A small step today can shape the future of our oceans.
At Muyu wa Kae Comprehensive School, students recently gathered for an inspiring session on turtle conservation and ocean stewardship. The visit focused on helping learners understand why sea turtles matter and how young people can take part in protecting them.
During the session, students explored the journey of sea turtles along the Kilifi coastline, the threats they face, and simple actions communities can take to safeguard these incredible marine species. The highlight of the day was encouraging students to join and register for a school conservation club (Heritage Club), creating a space where young conservation champions can learn, lead, and act for nature.
Moments like these remind us that conservation begins with awareness and grows through community action. When young minds connect with nature, the future of our oceans becomes stronger.
A heartfelt thank you to the The Rufford Foundation for supporting this initiative and helping bring conservation education to local schools in Kilifi County.
