TKP educates and cares for school-aged children in rural Kenya through community partnership.

Every day, hundreds of children around the world under the age of 5 die from diarrhoeal diseases caused by lack of access to basic WASH services - water, sanitation and hygiene (UNICEF).

At TKP, not only do we ensure access to clean water as a fundamental pillar of our work, but our students and teachers are trained on the guiding set of WASH principles. This includes proper hand washing with soap and use of choos (toilets).

Access to clean water combined with proper hygiene education can dramatically reduce the spread of waterborne illnesses in schools. The TKP team is dedicated to ensuring that no child suffers from a preventable disease!

All work, no play when the board is in Monterey. 😆 Just kidding, of course! Our meetings are full of business, good vibes, and loads of laughter.

Earlier this month our U.S. board members gathered in California to collaborate, plan, and dream about the future of TKP. The ideas were flowing and the excitement for what the future holds was endless.

This team is proud to stand alongside our incredible staff, community, and donors to support the children and families we serve in rural Kenya.

For children in rural Kenya, distance can be a significant barrier to starting education at the right age.

As part of our mission, we're dedicated to ensuring that preschools are placed in strategic locations in order to minimize the distance students need to travel each day for classes. For a three-year-old child, a three-mile while is a substantial barrier to education.

Our focus has always been to nurture our students throughout their entire education, which means ensuring they begin school at the right age of three.

By closing the distance gap, we can also close the learning gap!

💛 Supporting girls’ education means addressing the barriers that keep them out of the classroom, including access to menstrual care, proper hygiene, and adequate facilities. In Kenya, more than half of girls report falling behind in school due to challenges related to menstruation.

In 2025, our team prioritized providing access to these essential resources and services. As a result, 246 girls at TKP were able to stay in school thanks to reliable, free menstrual support!

We're proud of our team and their dedication to educating and supporting our girls through every aspect of life!

🚌 Students from our 4th Grade Nentekeny campus and 9th Grade Intimigom campus recently had the chance to take their education beyond the classroom for off-site field trips. ⁠
⁠
✈️ Our 4th graders visited Kisumu Airport and the port authority, and even had the opportunity to experience a game drive at Lake Victoria. There, they encountered giraffes, impala, and gazelles. For many of our 4th graders, this was a first-time experience!

🧪 Meanwhile, students from Intimigom traveled to Narok to take part in Science Congress, a competition where they proudly presented their own science projects. ⁠

💛⁠ These moments of discovery, exploration, and growth are made possible by the generosity of our donors! Thanks to you, we have the ability to open doors to new possibilities and inspire the next generation of students far beyond the classroom.

🧪 As students grow and advance in their educational journey, they require more in-depth science, technology, and leadership support. This is where our Field Partners play an important role. ⁠

In 2025 alone, we served 869,500 nutritious meals to students, and that number will only continue to grow. Our commitment has always been to nourish the whole child, supporting each student at every step of their journey at TKP. 🌽⁠

Thanks to our menu rich in campus-grown fruits and vegetables, TKP has not seen a single case of malnutrition for ten years running! 🥬⁠

💛 In 2025, we continued to invest deeply in our cornerstone nutrition program, ensuring students receive healthy, nourishing meals each day. But our farm-to-table model goes beyond food, it lays the groundwork for lifelong health and well-being. ⁠
