Alcohol, Stress & Trauma
The probability of an individual falling into the alcoholism snare increases if childhood and life trauma is not properly addressed. Alcoholism becomes a coping mechanism. Some examples of childhood and life trauma are:
- Physical neglect
- Physical abuse by parent, guardian, caretaker or spouse
- Emotional abuse and neglect
- Sexual abuse
- R**e
- Falling victim to violent acts like robbery and carjacking
- Observing violent victimisation
Alcohol is not the solution. Seek help from people you can trust. Don't face the trauma alone. A problem shared is half solved!
Come Let Us Reason Together - CLURT Ministries is inviting persons involved in substance abuse for life-changing sessions next to Assistant Chief’s Office - Wangunyu Sub-Location (Karura) every Friday from 11am-1pm.
