Day 07 of 16 Days of Activism
Fighting to End Workplace Harassment

Workplace harassment persists due to:

1. Power imbalances – Those in authority exploit their positions over vulnerable employees.

2. Lack of accountability – Perpetrators often go unpunished due to inadequate reporting and disciplinary measures.

3. Fear of retaliation – Victims remain silent to avoid losing their jobs or being ostracized.

4. Cultural normalization – In some environments, harassment is dismissed as a "normal" part of workplace dynamics.

As Drought Care Alliance (DCA):
We combat workplace harassment by:

• Creating safe reporting mechanisms for employees to voice concerns confidentially.

• Conducting regular training on workplace ethics, gender sensitivity, and anti-harassment policies.

• Establishing clear policies that ensure accountability and zero tolerance for harassment.

• Supporting victims by offering counseling and legal assistance.

How Society Can Help:

• Advocate for stricter enforcement of anti-harassment laws.

• Encourage organizations to prioritize inclusive and respectful workplaces.

• Raise awareness about workplace harassment through education and campaigns.

What Individuals Can Do:

• Speak up against harassment and support victims in reporting incidents.

• Educate themselves and others on professional boundaries and respect.

• Hold colleagues and leaders accountable to foster safe workspaces.

Let us to end workplace harassment and create environments where everyone feels respected, safe, and valued.
