It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we have received the heartbreaking news of the tragic incident that claimed the lives of miners at a Gold Mining pit at Romos in Kasei Ward, West Pokot County.
KNCCI West Pokot Chapter extends our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and the entire community affected by this tragedy. We stand in solidarity with all those mourning the loss of their loved ones during this difficult time.
This unfortunate incident is a painful reminder of the need to strengthen safety measures and improve working conditions within artisanal mining sites to safeguard lives and livelihoods.
May the Almighty grant comfort, healing, and strength to the injured victims, and may the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace.

KNCCI West Pokot, in partnership with ICPAK North Rift Region and Kapenguria Municipality, is currently conducting an MSME training at the Makutano Youth Empowerment Centre, with a strong focus on capacity building for small businesses.
The training brings together participants from the Jua Kali sector, boda boda operators, and traders in clothes, cereals, and fresh food markets, equipping them with essential business skills.
The session was officially opened by Vice Chairman Mark Loriso.
