Community Vitality Solutions CBO Community Vitality Solutions CBO (formerly Community ActionAid Education) is a registered refugee-led, community-based organization established in 2020.

Community Vitality Solutions CBO is a registered refugee-led and Community-Based Organization committed to empowering vulnerable and underserved refugee communities through health education, WASH, SRHE and Mental Health Physiological First Aid Awareness CVS empowers vulnerable and underserved refugee communities through grassroots health education, WASH, wellness, first aid and medical training programs. Guided by the Sustainable Development Goals—SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation)—CVS focuses on health education, promoting hygiene and sanitation, Mental Health & Physiological First Aid Awareness and delivering comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health Education within refugee and forcibly displaced communities.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗴𝗲𝗲 & 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻?

In Kakuma and Kalobeyei, (CVS) is responding to this by training and empowering Community Health Promoters (CHPs), health volunteers, and First Aid Responders with practical knowledge and skills to support their communities.
And our training does not end in class.

Our alumni are taking the knowledge and skills they gained at CVS and turning them into meaningful community service. Amira Abdalla, a Cohort 5 2025 Medical & First Aid Training alumna, is one example of our many alumni creating impact in their community.

In 2025, She served as a Community Health Promoter working for Kenya Red Cross in Kalobeyei. Today, she works as a Lab Assistant with Kenya Red Cross in Kalobeyei, contributing to essential healthcare quality services to refugee and host communities who need these services the most.

Her journey reflects what (CVS seeks to achieve: equipping youth and women with practical skills that create opportunities, strengthen community health services, and build sustainable solutions from within.

We are proud of Amira and all our alumni who continue to serve, lead, and create impact across Kakuma and Kalobeyei.

Today, (CVS) successfully welcomed and engaged Cohort 7 2026 – Group B as they began their one-year Medical & First Aid Training Program in Kakuma, Kenya. The class meeting was successful, with strong student participation, enthusiasm, and commitment to learning.

Through this voluntarily program, CVS is responding to critical community health needs by equipping refugee youth and women with practical knowledge and skills to serve as Community Health Promoters (CHPs), health volunteers, first aid providers, and emergency responders within their communities. We believe that refugee youth, women, and communities have the potential to create lasting change when they are given meaningful access to quality education, training, skills, and knowledge.

What happens when refugee youth and women are given the opportunity to learn, lead, and save lives? Communities become stronger and more resilient.

Today, Community Vitality Solutions (CVS) officially welcomed Cohort 7 into our one-year Medical & First Aid Training Program. This was more than a meeting—it marked the official beginning of a year-long journey of learning, leadership, and service.

Beyond introducing the CVS Code of Conduct, the meeting laid the foundation for a journey of learning, leadership, accountability, and service to the community.

Every student represents hope—a future Community Health Promoter, health volunteers and first aid responder equipped to improve health outcomes where the need is greatest.

We sincerely thank our Cohort 7 Student Representatives, students, CVS management, and dedicated volunteers for their commitment and passion.

As demand for our training continues to grow, we invite partners, donors, colleagues and well-wishers to stand with us. At (CVS) CBO, our monthly members' meeting is more than a routine gathering—it's a space to plan, evaluate, celebrate our shared commitment, and strengthen the impact of our community-led initiatives in Kakuma, Kenya.

We are proud of the dedication shown by our members, volunteers, facilitators, and staff, who generously give their time, skills, and passion to improve the lives of refugee youth, women, and host communities through volunteer-driven service.

This month's meeting focused on strategic planning for Cohort 7 of our Medical and First Aid Training Program, as we continue preparing refugee youth and women to become Community Health Promoters (CHPs), health volunteers, caregivers, and first aid Emergency responders, equipped to support emergency preparedness and strengthen community health.

How can refugee youth and women gain access to quality Medical and First Aid training that prepares them to become Community Health Promoters (CHPs), health workers, and Health volunteers?

At (CVS), we believe the answer lies in collaboration, partnership, and community-led action.
For the past several years, Community Vitality Solutions has been responding to this need by voluntarily training refugee youth and women in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya, equipping them with quality Medical and First Aid knowledge, lifesaving skills, and practical experience that strengthen community health, improve emergency response, and prepare future Community Health Promoters (CHPs), health workers, and volunteers.

Today, we were honored to welcome the Sub-County Ministry of Health (SCMoH) from the Turkana West Sub-County Department of Public Health and Sanitation, Department of Health and Sanitation Services, Turkana County Government. This was more than a courtesy visit—it was an important opportunity to showcase our health education programs, assess the quality of our community-based training, and explore opportunities for collaboration to strengthen health education and community health service delivery in Kakuma Refugee Camp.

This visit reflects the shared commitment of the Ministry of Health and Community Vitality Solutions to advancing quality health education through partnership, capacity building, and community engagement. By working together, we can expand access to lifesaving training and empower more refugee youth and women to become part of the solution to community health challenges.

We sincerely thank the Turkana West Sub-County Department of Public Health and Sanitation for their valuable visit, engagement, and commitment to promoting community health. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to our CVS members, volunteers, community leaders, and partners whose dedication makes this voluntary initiative possible.

As we continue to expand our impact, we warmly invite the Ministry of Health, development partners, NGOs, academic institutions, donors, and other stakeholders to collaborate with Community Vitality Solutions in scaling our a year Medical and First Aid Training Program, ensuring that more refugee youth and women gain the knowledge and practical skills needed to save lives and strengthen their communities.
