LOKADO in partnership with Aktion Deutschland Hilft and Johanniter International Assistance Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. trained 60 community farmer group members in Turkana West with support from Turkana County Government on Climate Smart Agriculture, Value Addition, Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture and Post Harvest Handling processes to improve feeding habits in the community and also cut losses after harvest.

LOKADO Staff conducting a beneficiary registration exercise within the host community for the SERVE Cash Transfer Project. This initiative, funded by The People of America through Concern Worldwide , aims to provide essential support to 1,200 beneficiaries across Loima Sub-county and Kerio Ward. The beneficiaries will receive KES 5,121 in 3 cycles for 5 months. The overarching goal is to ensure a sustained and effective emergency response and recovery process for the most vulnerable households residing in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) counties of Kenya.

One hundred reformed warriors from cross border villages in Kalobeyei and Letea in Turkana West, and Lokiriama Lorengkippi Ward in Lokiriama sun County, have received ksh 2.5 Million to support business start up.

The initiative is part of peace and climate change resilience building program jointly implemented by the County Government and Lotus Kenya (Lokado) supported by BMZ through Welt Hunger Hilfe (WHH).

A snapshot of the distribution of 952 goats to 238 households by LOKADO staff in Turkana South and East sub-counties under the Emergency WASH and Livelihoods project funded by the IOM - UN Migration and The People of Japan . The exercise was witnessed by local leaders and politicians from both the National Assembly and Turkana County Assembly. The emergency response was much applauded and appreciated for assisting community members whose livelihoods were affected by droughts and cattle- rustling.

The Restocking initiative by LOKADO to households with improved goat breeds is aimed at enhancing livelihoods. The breeds realize early maturity, resistance to climate changes, and resistance to diseases to ensure higher yields for farmers.
By introducing these superior breeds, households are empowered with sustainable livestock options, ultimately fostering economic stability and food security within the community. Today, 5 households mainly widowers in Nawuontos, Turkana County received the Galla Goats.
