Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026 | Empowering Conversations, Ending Period Poverty
As we culminate Menstrual Hygiene Day, the Enkakenya Sidai Initiative is proud to have facilitated meaningful conversations on menstrual hygiene and period poverty among rural women and girls in Kajiado County.
Through open dialogue, community engagement, and awareness sessions, we created safe spaces where women and girls could share experiences, access accurate information, and discuss the challenges they face in managing menstruation with dignity. These conversations highlighted the urgent need to address period poverty, break harmful stigmas, and ensure equitable access to menstrual health products and services.
Menstrual health is not just a women's issue—it is a matter of dignity, education, health, and human rights. When women and girls have the knowledge, support, and resources they need, they are empowered to participate fully in their communities and pursue their aspirations without limitations.
As we mark this important day, we reaffirm our commitment to advocating for menstrual health equity and working alongside communities to ensure that no woman or girl is left behind because of her period.
Together, let's break the silence, end period poverty, and champion menstrual dignity for all.
