We don’t always realize it,
how much of a privilege it is to say, “I’m going home.”
To have someone waiting. A warm meal. A parent’s embrace.
A sibling’s laughter echoing down the hallway.
Many of us grew up with it…
And never knew it was a blessing.

But here at our orphanage and rescue centre,
we’ve seen what it means when a child experiences that for the first time.

What some call simple, these children call miraculous.
A roof they can trust.
Arms that hold, voices that guide.
A place where love lives and grows.

This humble space becomes something sacred....home!
Because they are in it. Because they belong.

Here, they are nurtured, protected, taught.
They learn values, receive care, and find joy.
And every evening, they get to say words that carry so much weight:
“I’m going home.”

We’ve seen hearts soften.
Faces once tense with fear now glow with laughter.
The quiet child becomes talkative, giggly, full of light.

That is what home does.
It heals. It frees.
And in this little corner of the world, it gives hope a place to live.

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
And this—this is our first bold step toward self-reliance.

Meet our Lil Amazing Wonders Rescue Centre Kitchen Garden—not in our backyard, but miles away, planted with faith, love, and the determination to rise. Right now, it’s a humble start: a few rows of vegetables sprouting in the sun, one goat, and a handful of chickens. But it’s more than that—it’s a living, growing promise to our children.

With the cost of living rising and donations dropping drastically, keeping up with balanced meals for our children has become a daily struggle. An 80% drop in visits means even less support on the ground.

Still—we press on.

This garden is fully organic, grown with the purest intention: to nourish. In just a few weeks, we’ll be harvesting fresh, chemical-free produce straight from the soil. Fresh veggies mean healthier meals, stronger immune systems, and brighter smiles. We may only have one goat now, but we’re trusting God for more goats, more chickens—more blessings—so that one day soon, we’ll have fresh milk and eggs too.

Our dream is to go beyond subsistence—to grow enough to sell.
To become self-sustaining.
To cover school fees, food, medical care, staff salaries, and hopefully, own a permanent home for the children one day.

This is more than farming. This is healing.
This is dignity!
This is hope!

Unto Term 2… Off They Go!

This morning, the gates of Amazing Wonders Rescue Centre opened with hugs, laughter, and backpacks bouncing—our beloved children heading out, full of excitement, into Term 2.

For the past few weeks, this home has been filled with their voices, energy, and joy. Now, as they return to their various schools, we send them with hearts full of hope and prayers whispered into the wind.

This isn’t just a new school term. It’s another chapter in their journey of healing and rising—of discovering who they are and what they can become.

Here at Amazing Wonders, we do more than provide shelter. We offer love, stability, encouragement, and belief—the kind of foundation every child needs to thrive out there in the world.

As they step into classrooms, we are reminded of the words of Frederick Douglass:
“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”

These children are being built strong.
In courage. In purpose. In possibility.

We see leaders, artists, doctors, change-makers—walking out our gates this morning with big dreams and brave hearts.

We love them deeply.
We believe in them fiercely.
And we’ll be right here, cheering them on every single day until they come back home—full of new stories, lessons, and victories.

To Term 2—go boldly, little warriors. Your home is always behind you!

A lot can change in just a few months.

As we move deeper into 2025, we are reminded of how precious time is — and how much hope can be created in just a short season. At Amazing Wonders Rescue Centre, every day brings a new opportunity to rewrite the future for a child who once knew only hunger, fear, and loneliness.

Every now and then, you’ll see new faces — wide-eyed, hopeful, and slowly breaking into the most beautiful smiles as they experience safety, care, and love for the very first time. Smiling faces that were once hidden behind pain are now glowing with new life and joy.

And sometimes, you’ll notice a few familiar faces missing. That’s not a loss — it’s a victory. It means another precious child has been reunited with their family, returning to the arms of relatives who can now offer them a safe and loving home. Each goodbye is a celebration of healing and a future restored.

Through nourishing meals, education, mentorship, and healing care, we watch the incredible potential inside each child begin to shine.

We believe every child deserves the chance to dream again — to laugh, to learn, and to grow into their purpose.
With your prayers, encouragement, and support, we are not just rescuing lives; we are raising a generation of hope.

And just like that, the April holiday is coming to a close!

It’s been a beautiful and meaningful three weeks with the children at home — full of revision, reflection, prayer, play, and countless little moments that make parenting so rich. The home has been buzzing with energy, laughter, learning, and love.

We’ve taken time to go over Term 1 — what went well, what can improve — and to reconnect spiritually and emotionally as a family. These holiday moments are precious, and I’m deeply grateful for the time we’ve shared together.

Now, as we shift gears into Term 2, the journey continues.

Some of our children are heading back to boarding school, while the younger ones prepare to return to class. The excitement is real — but so is the financial stretch.

This season, I’m humbly reaching out for support. We are in need of help with school supplies, fees, and other back-to-school essentials. If it’s on your heart to assist in any way, no contribution is too small. Whether it’s through resources, encouragement, or prayer — every bit counts, and we are deeply grateful.
