Do we make decisions because they’re right… or because they make sense in the moment?
The truth is, many of life’s toughest decisions don’t come neatly labeled as “right” or “wrong.”
Most of the time, we’re forced to choose between two imperfect paths:
One that aligns with principles, but feels impractical.
Another that makes sense in context, but might go against the “ideal.”
And here’s the tension:
Principle asks, “What is the right thing?”
Practicality asks, “What works right now?”
Leadership often lives in the middle of this tension. It’s the place where logic, emotions, ethics, and survival all collide.
So maybe the real question isn’t “right vs. wrong” or even “logic vs. justification.”
Maybe it’s this:
Can you stand by your choice tomorrow with the same conviction you made it today?
Because at the end of the day, decisions don’t just shape outcomes, they shape us.
