As the world marks International Women’s Day, I recognize the women and communities affected by climate change, not only economically but also through invisible losses—stress, trauma, and mental health struggles.

In Northern Kenya, many households are grieving the loss of husbands, wives, and loved ones. Today, I honor the strength and endurance of women who continue to stand strong despite conflict and hardship.

Happy International Women’s Day to women everywhere. God is still alive, and He gives us hope. 💜

Happy Jamhuri Day!
Today we celebrate our women heroes who are transforming their families and communities through the power of VSLAs and the NELD project. Your courage, resilience, and commitment to progress continue to inspire and uplift us all.
Hongera to all our change-makers!

Today’s meeting on community land marked an important step in ensuring inclusivity and equity in land governance. As Queen of Peace, our core mandate is to ensure that women’s voices are heard and represented in all decision-making processes. We were privileged to facilitate meaningful participation of women in this critical forum, where their perspectives and contributions were well noted and respected.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the National Land Commission, the National Lands Office, the Regional and County Lands Offices, and the Office of the County Commissioner for their presence and collaboration.

Queen of Peace remains committed to ensuring that every voice matters — especially those that have been historically marginalized. Together, we are building a future where land rights are inclusive, fair, and just for all.

At QPI, we are privileged to work alongside women groups and are truly inspired to see individual efforts going beyond VSLA activities — with members now committing to diversifying their livelihoods. This kind of initiative and resilience is exactly what drives sustainable community development. Thanks to our partners

Yesterday, we were privileged to host a Burat community assessment dialogue focused on how our ecosystem connects people and the benefits of a healthy environment.

The dialogue brought together community leaders—village elders, village managers, women leaders, herbalists, and youth representatives. It was a deeply insightful moment of reflection and learning, as participants shared stories and experiences from over 60 years ago to the present.

We explored what has changed, what must be documented and conserved for the future generations, and how this knowledge can guide our continued work. The insights gathered will help inform Queen of Peace’s future focus areas as we continue volunteering in support of our communities.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the documentation of indigenous knowledge and to those who shared their wisdom so generously.

We appreciate our communities, our partners, volunteers — , —for walking this journey with us.
