On 16th October 2025, EcoPromise proudly participated in the World Food Day celebrations held at the Galole Agricultural Training Centre, Hola.
The event brought together key stakeholders in agriculture, environment, and food systems under the global theme of “Hand in hand for a better food and a better future.”
EcoPromise showcased vermicompost and vermijuice, innovative organic fertilizers derived from waste recycling processes. Our booth received over 200 visitors, including farmers, youth groups, and development partners. The special highlight was a visit from the County Executive Committee Member (CEC) for Agriculture.
The day reaffirmed EcoPromise’s commitment to promoting sustainable, circular solutions that link waste management to soil health, climate action, and food security in Tana River County.
Together, we continue to work hand in hand with communities, partners, and county departments to turn waste into opportunity, promoting better food, a better environment, and a better future for all. 💚

EcoPromise had the privilege of meeting with the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Environment, River County, alongside the Director of Environment, County Environment Officer, and partners from Hand in Hand Eastern Africa.

The meeting provided a platform to introduce EcoPromise’s community-led waste management model and explore areas of collaboration with the County Department of Environment.

We were encouraged to learn about the County’s ongoing efforts to validate the Solid Waste Management Policy Framework and its transition toward a circular economy, starting with the establishment of a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Hola.
We appreciate the CECM’s guidance and the Department’s commitment to supporting EcoPromise in aligning its initiatives with county priorities. Together, we move closer to building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Tana River County. 💚
