Our Director, Muhubo Iddle met with the Head of Consular Affairs at the Embassy of Mexico in Kenya, Ivannia Calcaneo, for a meaningful conversation on partnership and collaboration around Girl Concern Org’s Renewed Voices Recovery & Rescue Centre.

The meeting provided an important opportunity to share our vision for Renewed Voices and discuss potential areas of collaboration to strengthen support, protection, recovery, and opportunities for survivors of gender-based violence and girls and women in Northern Kenya.

We sincerely thank the Embassy of Mexico in Kenya and Ms. Ivannia Calcaneo for graciously making time to meet with us and for welcoming the conversation around partnership and shared efforts toward creating safer and more empowered communities.

At Girl Concern Org, we believe that meaningful change is strengthened when organizations, institutions, and diplomatic partners come together to amplify the voices of communities and invest in solutions that respond to their realities.

We look forward to nurturing this conversation and exploring meaningful opportunities for collaboration.

Thank you, Embassy of Mexico in Kenya, for opening your doors to Girl Concern Org. 🇲🇽💜

We still undercount GBV cases because many never enter formal systems.

This creates a false sense of coverage.

Data must reflect lived reality, not only system usage.

Community health workers are often the first responders in GBV cases.

Yet they are frequently undertrained in trauma-informed care.

Investing in them strengthens the entire response system.

When survivors drop out of care, it is rarely because they don’t want help.

It is because systems fail them at critical transition points.

We must design for continuity.
