On Saturday, 28th March, through the 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, the Centre for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation - University of Embu conducted a tree petting activity at 𝑨𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝑨𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝑲𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒖𝒆𝒓𝒊 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍, engaging students in a practical demonstration of environmental stewardship and climate action.

The 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 is designed 𝒕𝒐 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒏𝒖𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒔. When our plastic and trash end up in the streets, they eventually choke our drains, turning a downpour into a disaster that hits our most vulnerable neighbors the hardest.

Taking care of our environment isn't just a fancy concept for activists. It's about the simple, daily choice to dispose of waste properly so our city can actually breathe. If we start respecting our drainage systems and reducing our footprint today, we can build a much safer and drier future for everyone in this city we love.
