🚨 This is serious. And it’s closer than we think.

As schools reopen this week, a troubling reality is emerging more primary school children are being exposed to drugs earlier than ever before.

This is not just a statistic.
These are our children. Our future.

At Valid Dream Mentorship, we are already visiting schools like Uasin Gishu Academy talking to students, listening to them, guiding them.

But we cannot do this alone.

πŸ’¬ We need people who care.
πŸ’¬ We need professionals who can step in early.
πŸ’¬ We need a community that refuses to stay silent.

If you are a:

βœ” Counselor

βœ” Psychologist
βœ” Healthcare worker

Our Eldoret family, we need you. πŸ’™
This past Sunday, April 27, our Valid Dream Mentorship team walked the streets of Eldoret to be with our brothers and sisters living in street families during this cold season. We sat with them. We listened to their stories. We treated wounds, offered warmth, and simply showed up.
But one day is not enough. We need more hands.
Are you a medical assistant, psychologist, or first aider in Eldoret? Do you have skills and a heart for your neighbors? We are building a local Street Family Reduction Team and we want you on it.
This is Eldoret caring for Eldoret. No grand gestures needed. Just show up, listen, and help where you can.
πŸ“© To volunteer, message us here or contact Valid Dream Mentorship directly. Share this with someone who might answer the call.
When we meet people where they are, we remind them they are not forgotten. Let's do this together, Eldoret. 🀝

DAY 6 UPDATE: Women's Wellness Initiative 🌟

Today marks Day 6 of our Women's Wellness Initiative in Eldoret, Kenya and the numbers tell a story of hope, commitment, and community.

πŸ“Š BY THE NUMBERS:
βœ… 100 women enrolled
βœ… 77 women present today
βœ… 23 absent but here's what makes this extraordinary: EVERY SINGLE ONE sent an apology and committed to returning Saturday.
βœ… 0% dropout rate. Not one woman has left this program.

This isn't attrition. This is ACCOUNTABILITY. This is what community ownership looks like.

πŸ’¬ THE VOICES THAT MATTER MOST:
"I have been bleeding for ten years and I never knew why my back hurts so much. Now I know it's not a curse. It's just my body." β€” Age 22

"I have only ever used rags. Today I held a real pad in my hand. I didn't know something so simple could make me feel like a normal person." β€” Age 24

"Jordana said I don't have to use it if I'm not ready. No one has ever given me permission to choose before." β€” Age 20

"This place is saving my life." β€” Age 25

πŸ“ˆ OUR GROWTH JOURNEY:
Day 1: 44 women
Day 2: 62 women (+41%)
Day 3: 71 women (+15%)
Day 4: 85 women (+20%)
Day 5: 100 women (+18%)
Day 6: 77 present β€” 23 committed to return

That's 127% growth from launch to peak enrollment. Word of mouth. Trust. Transformation.

πŸ™ GRATEFUL FOR:
β€’ Jordana Steinberg & Evergreen Way Consulting for the trauma-informed curriculum
β€’ Dr. Mourice for his compassionate, expert-led sessions
β€’ Every woman who shows up, speaks up, and takes up space

This is just the beginning. Phase 1 continues in Eldoret. Phase 2 expansion to Turbo/Burnt Forest coming Q1 2027.

If you believe in women's health education, bodily autonomy, and community-led change β€” share this. The world needs to know what's happening here.

The "Permission" Framework (Thought Leadership)
The Most Powerful Thing I Said in Kenya: "You Don't Have To"
As a consultant designing health education programs, I prepared product demonstrations for the Women's Wellness Initiative. I didn't prepare for the moment that would redefine our approach.
After showing pads, cups, and liners, I added an unscripted sentence: "You don't have to use anything that doesn't feel right for your body."
A participant raised her hand: "I thought I was broken because I didn't want to use a cup. No one has ever told me that my 'no' is valid."
This is the framework missing from too many health interventions: Permission-based education.
We focus on information delivery. We should focus on agency cultivation. The data supports it our 90% retention rate and organic growth through word-of-mouth suggests that when women feel sovereign over their choices, they engage deeply and recruit others.
For program designers: Are you building "compliance" or "autonomy"? The difference shows up in your retention metrics and your participants' postures. (Literally we tracked engagement through body language shifts: downcast eyes to direct contact, slumped shoulders to raised hands.)
Current needs: We're scaling this model and seeking partners for:
β€’ Educational booklet design/printing (50 participants, English/Kiswahili)
β€’ Data tracking infrastructure
β€’ Trauma-informed referral networks
If you're working on reproductive health, consent education, or economic empowerment for women, let's connect. This intersection is where sustainable change happens.

A Special Connection: Day Three of the Women's Wellness Initiative πŸŒΈπŸ’»

Today, something extraordinary happened at the Valid Dream Mentorship Center.

On this third day of our Women's Wellness Initiative, our participants were joined LIVE on Zoom by Jordana Steinberg – the very architect of the curriculum that is transforming their understanding of menstrual and sexual health.

The room was electric.

After two powerful days of in-person learning led by the incredible Dr. Mourice, our women had the opportunity to meet the woman behind the words. Jordana didn't just observe from a screen – she listened, she answered questions, and she connected with each participant by name during a full round of introductions.

What made today special:

Participants proudly summarized what they have learned so far – from bodily autonomy to menstrual product types, from hygiene challenges to pain management strategies

Jordana heard directly from the women about their needs, their questions, and their dreams

A bridge was built between Eldoret and the global community supporting this work

The women learned that they are not alone – that people across the world believe in their wellness and dignity

What our participants shared:
"We have learned so much. But we need products. We need resources. We need the world to know we are here."

"Thank you, Jordana, for writing these words for us. We are reading them. We are learning. We are becoming stronger."

Jordana heard every word. And she responded with a commitment: to build a funding slide deck, to connect with grant experts at UCLA, to gather product samples for a show-and-tell demonstration, and to help secure the resources these women deserve.

This is what partnership looks like.

This is not charity. This is collaboration. This is women supporting women across continents, breaking silence, and building a future where every girl has the knowledge and products she needs to thrive.

What's next:

Individual wellness packets for every participant (coming soon!)

A product demonstration Zoom where women will see and learn about different menstrual products

Ongoing curriculum delivery led by Dr. Mourice and facilitators

Grant applications to secure sustainable funding for products

To Jordana Steinberg: thank you for showing up, for listening, and for being a true partner in this movement. The women of Eldoret see you, and they are grateful.

To Dr. Mourice: thank you for your steady, compassionate leadership day after day.

To every woman in our program: You are seen. You are heard. Your dreams are valid.

Please like, comment, and share to help us reach more women and more partners. This movement is growing – and you can be part of it.

Together, we rise. Together, we thrive.

Evening Session Success: Day Two of the Women's Wellness Initiative

Tonight, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Valid Dream Mentorship hosted the second day of our Women's Wellness Initiative in Eldoret.

Led once again by the exceptional Dr. Mourice, this evening session welcomed both returning participants and new members who have joined our growing movement for women's health education.

Key highlights from tonight:

πŸ“Œ Sustained engagement over two hours of focused learning
πŸ“Œ Deepening conversations around sexual and menstrual health
πŸ“Œ Increasing participation as word spreads through the community
πŸ“Œ A safe, judgment-free environment where questions are welcomed

Why evening sessions matter:

By offering sessions at 4:30-6:30 PM, we are removing barriers for women who cannot attend morning programs due to work, caregiving responsibilities, or other commitments. Accessibility is not just a word – it is a practice.

What we are witnessing:

Women are not just attending. They are:

Taking notes

Asking courageous questions

Supporting one another

Leaving with actionable knowledge

This is the power of community-led, women-centered health education.

Our deepest gratitude to Dr. Mourice for her steadfast leadership, and to Jordana Steinberg and Evergreen Way Consulting for developing the curriculum that makes these transformative conversations possible.

Next session details will be announced soon.

To our partners, donors, and supporters: Thank you for making this work possible. You are investing in dignity, knowledge, and the health of women who will shape the future of Eldoret.

Together, we rise. Together, we thrive.

Launching the Women's Wellness Initiative: A Movement for Dignity, Knowledge and Bodily Autonomy
On Saturday, April 4, 2026, Valid Dream Mentorship marked a significant milestone in our community impact journey.
We launched the Women's Wellness Initiative in Eldoret – a dedicated program addressing sexual and menstrual health education for young women and caregivers.
Why this matters:
Across Kenya and the Global South, menstrual health remains shrouded in silence and stigma. Lack of access to accurate information and safe spaces for discussion leads to:
School absenteeism among adolescent girls
Avoidable health complications
Perpetuation of myths that undermine dignity
Barriers to full participation in economic and community life
What we are doing about it:
Led by the exceptional Dr. Mourice, our first session brought together women from across Eldoret in a safe, judgment-free environment. Participants listened, took notes, and courageously asked questions that have long gone unspoken.
This initiative is made possible through a powerful partnership. Our deepest gratitude to Jordana Steinberg and Evergreen Way Consulting for developing the evidence-informed curriculum that transforms these vital conversations into actionable knowledge.
The impact we witnessed:
In just one morning, we saw:
βœ… Women claiming knowledge they were never given
βœ… Caregivers preparing to educate the next generation
βœ… A community breaking silence with courage and solidarity
The journey continues.
Session 2 takes place tomorrow, Sunday, April 5, 2026, at the Valid Dream Mentorship Center in Eldoret. All women in our community are invited to join.
To our partners, donors, and supporters:
This is what your investment makes possible. Not just programs and metrics, but real women gathering in real rooms, asking real questions, and leaving with the tools to protect their health and dignity.
To other organizations working in women's health:
We welcome collaboration. The challenges are too large for any single organization to address alone. If you are doing similar work, let's connect.
Together, we rise. Together, we thrive.

"Sometimes, the darkest hours come just before the dawn of something new."
Today, as we observe Good Friday, we reflect on a profound truth that transcends any single faith tradition:
Sacrifice and surrender are not the end of the story.
In the silence of this Friday before the Sunday we now celebrate there was waiting. There was uncertainty. There was grief.
For many in our community and beyond, every day can feel like a Friday of waiting. Waiting for breakthrough. Waiting for provision. Waiting for healing. Waiting for a door to open.
To anyone carrying that weight today whether in Eldoret or across the globe please hear this:
πŸ“Œ You are not forgotten.
πŸ“Œ Your struggle is seen.
πŸ“Œ Your perseverance is not in vain.
The challenges you face today are not the final chapter of your story. Just as the cross became a bridge between despair and redemption, your most difficult seasons can become the foundation for greater strength, deeper wisdom, and more purposeful impact.
At Valid Dream Mentorship, we are committed to walking alongside those in the waiting offering mentorship, mental health support, and tangible pathways to economic empowerment. Because we believe every dream is valid, and every person deserves to see their dawn.
To our partners, donors, volunteers, and the entire Valid Dream community: thank you for being the light for someone in their Friday.
Hold on. The dawn is coming.
With hope and solidarity,
Maxwell Chacha
