Why Community Health in Kenya Remains Unmonetized — And Why That Is the Greatest Opportunity of Our Time

Community Health is the backbone of Kenya’s healthcare system. It is the first point of contact for millions of households, the frontline of prevention, and the bridge between communities and formal health facilities. Yet, paradoxically, it remains one of the least monetized segments of the healthcare industry...

Why I Would Spend Eternity Molding My Son 👣

Under this cloudy Kenyan sky, I wear many hats — artisan, comedian, and life coach. My two-year-old son is both my greatest project and my greatest teacher.

This is not the age of manipulation — no. We don’t lie to him or treat him like a puppet who knows nothing. Those days are long gone.

This is the

He’s no longer just being told what to do — he’s starting to ask why. He shifts realities with makeshift Lego bricks (pegs) and dares to dream in porridge-splattered visions. I don’t correct that too quickly. Because Samaki mkunje angali mbichi — bend the fish while it’s still fresh.

And I bend only with love.

His curiosity is stubborn.
His confidence is wild.
His giggles are healing.
And his tantrums? Well… they're part of the curriculum. 😅

Every day, he teaches me to slow down. Pole pole ndiyo mwendo — slowly, slowly is the way. He's acquiring knowledge, testing limits, downloading life lessons in real time. I am not raising a I’m raising a

🌍 So why spend eternity molding him?

Because in his growth, I find purpose.
In his questions, I rediscover faith.
And in his future… I see hope for mine.

He is my legacy — and I’d rather shape it with patience than chase freedom with regret.

*🎯 “When Your 2-Year-Old Son Becomes Your Life Coach” 🤔👶🏾*

Picture this: Early morning. Daddy is rushing to prepare for the day. But there’s a tiny boss in the living room who has *other plans*.

“Daddy, sit. We talk.”

He proceeds to assign tasks with the confidence of a corporate consultant:
✅ “Daddy, omba kwanza.” (Pray first)... He proceeds to gibberish then he declares Amen!
✅ “Pick my socks!”

And you obey. Why? Because somehow he *inspires* you while ordering you around.

This little one is not just *cute*. He’s demonstrating serious *leadership, autonomy, empathy and yes, stubbornness*:

✨ *Leadership:* He convenes “meetings” on the carpet to plan who feeds who. When Daddy suggests a shortcut? He rejects it. “We do it properly.” Sounds like a mini project manager.

✨ *Autonomy:* He insists on wearing his own shoes on the wrong foot, sure but that’s innovation in progress. He knows what he wants.

✨ *Empathy:* He hits Daddy’s. Comes over with a gentle pat. “Daddy pole?” Suddenly, you’re opening up to a toddler like he’s your therapist, "umeumiza Daddy, ...pretending to cry... ".

✨ *Stubbornness:* He will not compromise on sleeping with socks.* Negotiation fails. He knows his non-negotiables. Now we do tights during night sleep 🌝

*💭 But here’s the thing:*
What feels like daily family comedy is actually a glimpse into the future of leadership in an *AI-driven world*.

Tomorrow’s leaders won’t just follow rules—they’ll question them. They’ll need to think creatively when tech fails. They’ll have to connect with people on a human level that no algorithm can replicate.

In a world of chatbots and self-driving cars - BTW tesla delivered itself to the buyer from the factory - I thought you should know, empathy will be the new competitive edge.

Your 2-year-old demanding respect for his choices? That’s *autonomy*.
Giving you hugs when you’re stressed? That’s *emotional intelligence*.
Refusing shortcuts? That’s * and *.

🧭 *So Dads (and Mums, and everyone else):*
Next time your toddler acts like the family coach,

.
.
.

Because they’re not just preparing for school.
They’re preparing to lead us into a future where the human touch will matter more than ever even as the world goes AI.

✨ *Raise them to be kind, strong, curious and let them teach you, too.*

*Lessons from My Son: A Life Coach’s Perspective*

Spending quality time with my son—now in his third year of life—has offered me insights that continue to shape my journey as a .

Before diving in, let me briefly clarify:

*What is a life coach?*

A life coach is a partner in personal growth and goal-setting. We focus on the future—on aspirations, vision, and actionable steps forward—rather than emotional healing or past trauma. While many people associate coaching with advice-giving, it's actually about empowering individuals to unlock their potential.

Contrary to popular belief, life coaching isn't about projecting our own experiences onto others. It's a client-centered practice where we walk alongside someone, guiding them toward clarity, purpose, and meaningful change.

Through my son, I've come to understand how deeply our behaviors, tones, and emotions influence those around us. At this stage in his development, he mirrors my posture, voice, and even my expressions. He's learning how to navigate , —and sometimes, how to press my buttons to get the reaction he wants.

But here’s what this experience has taught me: While our past shapes us, it doesn’t have to define us. As human beings, we are not prisoners of our experiences. God has given us the power to rise above, to create, and to build a future guided by our innate gifts and purpose.

I am responsible for my son’s well-being, but his future is ultimately his to shape. Education is simply a tool—a means to help him realize his dreams. As his parent, I must be his first believer, his greatest supporter, and the first investor in whatever vision he chooses to pursue.

And just as I do for my son, I believe we can all walk alongside our children—or anyone seeking direction—with hope and intention. Our past is not a barrier; it's a stepping stone. Together, we can step into a brighter, more purposeful future.
