A standout moment from the 28th IEASA Annual Conference was the QS World University Rankings-sponsored Plenary Panel, which tackled a vital question for our continent: How can strategic collaboration elevate the global standing and local impact of African higher education institutions?

The panel brought together leading voices—including Dr. Sergey Paramonov (Regional Partnerships Manager: Africa, Middle East & South Asia, QS) and Dr. Normah Zondo, PhD (President of IEASA and Executive Director: Corporate Relations Division, UKZN)—to explore how partnerships shape research, employability, quality assurance, and global engagement.

The African Network for Internationalisation of Education (ANIE) looks forward to participating in Day 2 of the PROSPER WP4 Workshop on Digital Collaboration at the Open University of Kenya in Konza Technopolis.

Focused on co-design and practical application, the upcoming sessions will bring together partners from the University of Eldoret and European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) to collaboratively develop a Virtual Mobility Framework.

We are particularly excited about the interactive co-design sessions and scenario-based labs, which will provide an opportunity to explore practical, scalable approaches to digital collaboration and internationalisation in higher education.

As ANIE, we are keen to contribute to these discussions and engage with partners in shaping innovative solutions that strengthen Africa-Europe collaboration in education.
