PS Basic Education Prof. Julius Kibet Bitok paid a courtesy call at the Embassy of the Kenya in Beijing, China, where he held a high-level consultative engagement with the Education Attaché.
The engagement provided a comprehensive update on the status of Kenyan students in China, with focused discussions on existing academic opportunities, including scholarships, institutional linkages and skills-based training programmes. They also examined key challenges affecting student welfare, academic continuity and integration, with a view to strengthening responsive and coordinated support mechanisms.
The Government remains firmly committed to safeguarding the interests of Kenyan learners abroad while deepening bilateral cooperation in education. Continued efforts will be directed towards structured interventions that expand access to quality education, enhance student support systems and align global training opportunities with national development priorities.
Present were Mr. Collins Karithi (Chargé d’Affaires), Mr. Albert Ombiro (Education Attaché), Mr. Brian Choma (Political Officer), Ms. Mercy Achieng (Political Officer), Mr. Livingston Wahuro (Trade Attaché) and Mr. Geoffrey Gikonyo (Immigration Attaché).
