Happy mothers day !!

This Mother’s Day was unlike any other—instead of the usual gatherings, we celebrated by cheering at Granny’s 1st football tournament! It was a day filled with laughter, competition, and heartfelt moments, making it a truly special occasion.
Grannies may you have a lifelong free from health issues.
Thank you Kenya Grannies Football Federation ,My sister Elizabeth Keitany who started this few months ago to bring the old age together through friendly competition. This year, the tournament featured teams made up of different counties and even a few brave middle age moms who swapped their Mother’s Day relaxation for some fierce (but fun) rivalry. The field was transformed into a beautiful stadium, complete with goalposts, team jerseys, and a trophy to celebrate.
With me to celebrate the day was our Dg,Our Speaker County assembly ,our MCAs and host of different County CECs and COs.

Today, alongside Deputy Governor Prof. Grace Cheserek, we raised awareness among spouses of the MCAs in Elgeyo marakwet about teenage pregnancies, mentorship for boys and girls, and gender-based violence (GBV) and FGM.

The challenges confronting our communities includes the tripple threat exposure(New Hiv infections,Teen pregnancy and the Sexual gender based Violence) , looking for solutions and addressing the issues helps to create a balanced approach on gender issues and promotes positive role models.

Happy international Women’s Day!

Joined H.E Tessie Mudavadi during the official launch of the Okoa Malaika Initiative .Through her Office with the collaboration of Ushiriki Wema Initiative and Mudavadi Memorial Foundation, which intend to focus on mitigating various societal challenges.

As we dedicate this day to highlight the collective efforts of everyone who cares about human rights in the ongoing struggle for gender parity, we celebrated our expectant mothers.

During today's launch ,we (Elgeyo Marakwet county )got a donnation of two incubators and two infant warmer blankets, marking a significant step forward in enhancing neonatal care services in our health facilities in our county.

Among the leaders present were the H.E Zhang Zhizhong, Minister Counselor and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Kenya,fellow County First Ladies from Uasin Gishu ,west pokot ,Bungoma , CEC and Co’s incharge of health.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ZERO TOLERANCE FOR FGM

Today our County Government of Elgeyo Marakwet and the world marked the International Day of Zero Tolerance for FGM 2024 ,Venue was at Sambirir Girls High School in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

This was a national event that was attended by Hon. Aisha Jumwa Katana, Cabinet Secretary of Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage ,Staff of the county , stakeholders and many other leaders .

Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM) is a violation of human rights,Together, we must raise awareness, educate communities, and advocate for laws and policies that protect girls and women from this harmful practices.
