Before this journey began, this group had no uniforms.

No structure.
No financial stability.
No certainty about tomorrow.

Just resilience… and hope.

Today, that same group stands together, organized, confident, and united.

✨ They can afford food for their families
✨ They are running small businesses
✨ They are supporting each other through a strong VSLA system
✨ And yes… they now proudly wear their group uniform

Because something changed:

They were given a chance.

At HCF, we’ve seen how small, affordable loans can transform not just individuals, but entire communities.

But many more are still waiting.

💛 The next transformation is possible, with your support.

🤝 Partner with us. Be part of the change.

This week, we pause to reflect, and celebrate growth that truly matters.

What started as a small initiative with 11 beneficiaries has now grown into a thriving community of 38 empowered individuals.

We began by offering modest loans of KES 5,000 – 20,000, believing that even the smallest opportunity can spark change. Today, our members are confidently accessing loans of up to KES 49,000, with some progressing through three loan cycles.

This is more than numbers.

This is:
✨ A mother starting and expanding her small business
✨ A young person building a sustainable livelihood
✨ A family finding stability and dignity
✨ A community rising together

At Hulshof Community Foundation, our mission goes beyond financial support. Through our programs in:

Education and Child Development
Livelihoods & Economic Empowerment
Social Protection
Health, Nutrition & WASH

—we are building resilience, restoring hope, and creating pathways out of poverty.

💡 When you empower one person, you uplift an entire community.

But the journey doesn’t stop here.

With more support, we can:
✔ Reach more vulnerable households
✔ Increase access to higher loan amounts
✔ Strengthen livelihoods across rural Kenya
✔ Expand our impact sustainably

🤝 Join us. Partner with us. Support transformation.

Together, we can turn small beginnings into lasting change.

🌍 International Women’s Day 2026 | “Give to Gain”

Today, the world celebrates International Women’s Day under the inspiring theme “Give to Gain.” This year’s message reminds us that when we invest our time, knowledge, and resources in women, we create stronger families, thriving communities, and a more inclusive world.

At The Hulshof Community Foundation this belief drives our work every day. Through our Microloan Program, we support community entrepreneurs, 89% of whom are women,by providing accessible financial opportunities that help them start businesses, improve household income, and build resilient livelihoods.

When we give women access to opportunity, communities gain economic stability, food security, and hope for the next generation.

On this special day, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to TCP Global for walking alongside us through mentorship, partnership, and generous support, helping expand opportunities for women in our communities.

Our work contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
🌱 SDG 1 – No Poverty
👩🏾‍🤝‍👩🏿 SDG 5 – Gender Equality
📈 SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
🌍 SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities

When we give women the tools to thrive, the whole community gains.

Happy International Women’s Day 2026!

What Makes Our Revolving Loan Program Work? Community. Trust. Peer Support. ✨

At Hulshof Community Foundation (HCF), the success of our revolving loan program goes far beyond money, it’s built on strong VSLA ties and deep peer support among members.

Within each group, members take collective responsibility. When one person takes up a microloan, the group ensures repayments stay on track. And when a member faces challenges, the rest step in to support, no one is left behind.

💛 We witnessed this firsthand during yesterday’s weekly group visit.
One inspiring member, who started with just KES 15,000, has now grown her loan to KES 33,000. Today, she is not only thriving but also serving as a peer supporter and role model to others in the group.

What stands out most? Her resilience.
At 66 years old, she boldly shared how HCF has transformed her life, strengthened her confidence, and restored her hope.

This is the power of community-driven finance.
This is what happens when trust, accountability, and solidarity meet opportunity.

To TCP Global, our mentor, donor and partner, your support is not just funding loans; it is changing lives, building dignity, and strengthening communities from within.

Together, we are proving that sustainable impact starts with people.

Judith Akinyi, a dedicated small-scale farmer, recently received a loan of KES 5,000 to enhance her farm inputs. This support is part of the HCF Microloan initiative, which aims to empower farmers and entrepreneurs by providing financial assistance tailored to their business capacity.

At HCF Microloan, we assess each applicant’s business potential and capacity before extending a loan. This ensures that the support provided not only meets immediate needs but also contributes to sustainable growth. For Judith, the loan will enable her to purchase high-quality seeds and fertilizers, boosting her farm productivity and income potential.

Through initiatives like this, HCF Microloan continues to empower small-scale farmers, helping them expand their businesses, improve livelihoods, and contribute to stronger local economies.
