Article 38 of the Constitution of Kenya guarantees every citizen the right to make political choices including the right to vote and be voted for.
This is not just a law it is power placed in our hands as young people.
As the youth form the largest percentage of the population yet many remain unregistered or fail to participate in elections.
We cannot continue to complain about unemployment poor services and lack of opportunities while we stay away from the very process that determines our leadership.
Voter registration is the first step towards change.
It is your voice your influence and your chance to shape the future of your ward county and country.
We call upon all young people to take Article 38 seriously.
Register as voters mobilize your peers and actively participate in elections. Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC)
Your voice matters and your participation will shape the Kenya we all want.

BUSIA YOUTH, THIS IS YOUR MOMENT!

Public participation for the FY2026/2027 Budget Estimates is happening in Busia County on 22nd April 2026 (9am–5pm) across all 8 sub-counties.

📢 This is where decisions are made.
📢 This is where priorities are set.
📢 This is where YOUR voice should be heard.

Young people, show up and speak up!
If you don’t push for your priorities, they won’t be funded. It’s that simple

But, BUSIA County Government
holding these forums at the sub-county level locks out many people:

❌ Long distances
❌ Transport costs
❌ Limited access for ordinary citizens

So we must ask:
Is public participation truly inclusive if many cannot afford to attend?

Participation should not just exist;

👉 Leaders must bring these forums closer to the people
👉 Citizens must still make the effort to show up where possible

Do you think sub-county forums are enough? What would make public participation more acc
