TIU Impact Next MEMBER SPOTLIGHT - Meet Yujiro
From local tournaments in Japan to one of the world’s biggest international esports stages — Yujiro recently represented himself at the Pokémon Europe International Championships (EUIC) 2026 held at ExCeL London, UK.
EUIC is one of the largest and most competitive Pokémon tournaments globally, second only to the Pokémon World Championships. This year’s Nintendo Switch Video Game Master Division became the biggest in history, featuring 1,455 players from around 50 countries.
Competing internationally for the very first time, Yujiro achieved an impressive result: 135th place out of 1,455 global competitors with an 8–5 record.
He successfully advanced through Phase 1 with a strong 6–2 performance before finishing Phase 2 with a 2–3 record. Throughout the tournament, he faced several top-ranked players, including competitors who later finished in the Top 8 and Top 16.
Despite the intense competition, Yujiro’s performance demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and the ability to compete on an international stage at a highly competitive level.
“Competing at the Pokémon Europe International Championships 2026 helped me grow both as a competitor and as a person. I was able to connect with players from around the world through our shared passion for Pokémon, and the experience motivated me to continue improving and come back even stronger in the future.” — Yujiro
