お遍路さん以外も泊まれる宿坊へ🚶♀️
上板町にある『第6番札所 安楽寺』。本尊は薬師如来で、平安時代に弘法大師がこの地に霊泉が湧き出ていることを発見し、その湯は万病を癒す効果があるとされたことから薬師如来を刻んで安置したと伝えられています。弘法大師が湯治のご利益を伝えたことから、山号には温泉山と付けられています。
ここは、第1番札所『霊山寺』から歩き始めて最初に着く宿坊です。安土桃山時代には蜂須賀家政によって「駅路寺」に定められ、宿坊として約400年の歴史を持ちます。
現在はお遍路さん以外も宿坊に泊まることができます。全55室を備え、中でも徳島らしさを体感するなら、藍染を基調に徳島の職人の技術が光る「青龍の間」に泊まるのがおすすめです。
窓からは、美しい境内にも目を奪われます。また、宿泊者は霊泉「弘法の湯」で旅の疲れを癒せます。

A Temple Stay Open to All—Not Just Pilgrims 🚶♀️
Located in Kamiita Town, the 6th temple of the Shikoku Pilgrimage, Anraku-ji temple enshrines Yakushi Nyorai, the Buddha of healing. It is said that during the Heian period, Kūkai discovered a sacred spring here, believed to cure all ailments. Inspired by its healing properties, he carved and enshrined Yakushi Nyorai. The temple’s mountain name, “Onsen-zan” (Hot Spring Mountain), reflects this origin.
Anraku-ji temple is the first temple lodging pilgrims reach after setting out on foot from Ryōzen-ji Temple, the 1st temple of the pilgrimage. In the Azuchi–Momoyama period, it was designated as an “ekiro-ji” (official lodging temple) by Hachisuka Iemasa, and has a history of around 400 years as a temple lodging.
Today, the temple welcomes not only pilgrims but also general visitors. With 55 guest rooms available, one of the highlights is the “Seiryū-no-ma” room, where you can experience Tokushima’s craftsmanship through indigo-dyed décor and traditional techniques.
From your room, you can enjoy views of the tranquil temple grounds. Guests can also relax in the sacred hot spring, “Kōbō no Yu,” said to have been discovered by Kūkai, and soothe their travel fatigue.
