We visited the “2026 Chitose-Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival” held at Lake Shikotsu hot springs, Chitose city, Hokkaido from Saturday, January 31st to Monday, February 23rd (national holiday) ⛄⭐

Ice sculptures of various sizes, created by spraying the clear water of Lake Shikotsu with sprinklers and freezing it, shimmered in the daytime with a natural blue hue known as “Shikotsu Blue.” From evening onward, colorful light-ups created a fantastical world ✨🌈

At the “Ice Kitchen” inside the venue, hot drinks to warm chilled bodies, marshmallows, and karintou manju were sold. The bonfire-roasted marshmallow and manju experience drew large crowds of visitors☕

The two faces revealed by the ice sculptures glowing in the cold air were truly breathtakingly beautiful✨📸

The “2026 Sapporo Snow Festival” is being held from Wednesday, February 4th to Wednesday, February 11th (a national holiday) at Odori Park, Sapporo Station Front Street, and the Sapporo Sports Exchange Facility (Tsudome)!

Japan's largest winter festival, attracting over 2 million visitors from Japan and abroad, is back again this year! 😊
This time, we visited the “Odori Park Venue,” one of the three main sites! 🚶 (Photos 2-6)

At the Odori Park venue, you can see snow sculptures featuring anime and game characters, as well as snow sculptures of buildings and other landmarks symbolizing Hokkaido! 👀

Furthermore, at the 2nd and 9th blocks, you can see unique snow sculptures created by citizens, and a popular vote for the best citizen-made snow sculptures is also held! ✨
