Held over three days—from Saturday, July 18,
through Monday, July 20 (a national holiday)—
during the three-day weekend in July,
the “2026 Sky Beer & YOSAKOI Festival” took place
at Green Belt’s Tsudoi Plaza, Festival Plaza, and
Green Plaza. Here’s a look at the event!

Unfortunately, it rained on the first and second days,
but on the final day, we were blessed with good weather,
temperatures rose, and the event was a huge success! 🍻☀

The event featured a packed lineup,
including dance performances 🕺 by YOSAKOI teams
from all over Hokkaido, a dance show 👯 by the Fighters Girls,
and a special event commemorating the 100th anniversary
of Chitose Airport’s opening. 🎉

At the food and drink booths, in addition to Kirin Beer
—which has a manufacturing plant in the city—
about 30 vendors set up shop,
and many people enjoyed food and
drinks starting from early in the day 😋🍺

In addition, we at the Ishikari Subprefectural Bureau participated
in the event on the final day, Monday,
the 20th (a national holiday),to promote tourism and
offer approximately 240 attendees the chance
to make keychains and magnets featuring a design
exclusive to that day!!

The 2026 Sky Beer & YOSAKOI Festival returns this summer
for three exciting days from July 18 to July 20 at Green Belt,
Tsudoi Plaza, Omatsuri Plaza, and Midori Plaza in Chitose City! ✈🍻

Enjoy spectacular YOSAKOI dance performances
by teams from across Hokkaido,
along with a variety of stage events that change each day. 💃

The festival also features approximately 30 food and drink booths,
including Kirin Beer, which is brewed at its Chitose brewery.
From delicious local food to refreshing drinks,
there's something for everyone to enjoy. 🍽🍧🌴

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Chitose Airport,
special events such as a stamp rally will also be held.

Yesterday’s limited-time takeout menu featured
the “Ishikari Burger & Local Potatoes”! 🍔🍟

I bought one right away and gave it a try…
With fresh lettuce and tomatoes, plus a hearty patty,
it really filled me up 😋

In addition, there was a huge selection of delicious dishes
made with fresh vegetables 🥬 and
local ingredients! 🎪✨

At our Ishikari Subprefectural Bureau (Commerce, Industry, Labor, and Tourism Division) booth, we promoted tourism 📣🌈
People of all ages—from kids to adults—
got to try their hand at making

“19th Hokkaido Flax Festival in Tobetsu” will be held!
------------------------------------------------------✨

On Sunday, July 4, in Tobetsu Town, Hokkaido—
the birthplace of the revival of flax cultivation—
Japan’s only flax-themed festival, the “Hokkaido Flax Festival,”
will be held! 👏💎

■ What is flax…?❓
It is a plant native to Central Asia, an annual herb belonging
to the genus Linum in the Linaceae family.
In early summer, it blooms with pale purple flowers.
The blooming period lasts about one month (around July),
with peak bloom lasting about two weeks.
The flowers begin to bloom at dawn and fall by noon,
but on cloudy days, they may remain open until after noon.

With various exhibits on flax, sales of local agricultural products,
food and drink booths featuring dishes made with flax seeds,
and a singing contest themed around “The Maiden with Flax-Colored Hair,”
this event is brimming with the charm of flax❗

“The 37th Eniwa Flowers and Lifestyle Exhibition,”

Here’s a look back at the
“37th Eniwa Flowers and Lifestyle Exhibition,”
held on Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28,
at Hanafuru!

Although the skies looked a bit
unpromising early in the morning on both days,
once the event got underway,
the weather cleared up beautifully☀️👏

The event featured a packed lineup, including
various stage performances,
flower seedling sales, all-you-can-pack vegetable bins, workshops,
guided tours, art exhibitions, and numerous food trucks!

On stage,
Eniwa City’s mascot, “Karin-chan,” made an appearance too ♥
The rock-paper-scissors tournament with the energetic kids
was a huge hit! 👧🏻📛

Blessed with great weather,
the “37th Eniwa Flowers and Lifestyle Expo” was a huge success.

Held over two days on Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28,
at Wattsu PA (Hokkaido Expressway, Out-bound, towards Sapporo)
here’s a look at the “Hokkaido Highway Show Area® 2026”!

Although the cloudy skies early in the morning on both days
had us worried,the skies cleared up instantly once the event began☀

The event featured a packed lineup, including a quiz rally and a lucky draw
where you could win tickets🎫 to a Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters game,
regional promotions🗺,
and sales of local gourmet food🍴 and specialty products🎪 made with local ingredients!

Plus, during the meet-and-greet with a total of four mascot characters—
including NEXCO East Japan’s “Manati” and “Ikanzame,”
and Hokkaido’s tourism mascot “Kyun-chan”,
From Obihiro City, the mascot character for the 13th National
Wagyu Cattle Competition Hokkaido Regional Tournament,
“Wagury”—
the area was bustling with people taking commemorative photos
and interacting with the mascots!
It’s great that Kyun-chan made some new friends too! ✌

At the Ishikari Subprefectural Bureau booth, we promoted tourism
and offered visitors the chance to make
keychains and magnets featuring designs exclusive to the event!
