Day 1 Panel Session on African Japanese Cocreation by 2055.
The next 30 years of Africa–Japan collaboration will be shaped not only by strategy, but by people, especially young people. At TICAD 9, through YOUTH TICAD 2055, and beyond, youth are being put in the spotlight for good reason: action is the beginning of everything.
Information may be abundant online, but true understanding comes through experience. This is why people-to-people exchange is a cornerstone of the Youth Agenda 2055, a vision shaped by thousands of young voices across the globe.
Key reflections from the panel:
Leverage human resources — our creativity, skills, and resilience matter more than natural resources.
Education builds trust — reliable, long-term partnerships grow from knowledgeable, capable communities.
Democracy sustains progress — inclusive political systems create room for innovation and stability.
Intellectual property creates value — safeguarding ideas is critical for meaningful development.
Failure teaches — it is part of the journey, not the end.
Above all: speak up, take opportunities, and build trustworthy networks.
The Africa–Japan partnership through Youth Agenda 2055: The Future We Want, will be defined by those who step forward today with courage, vision, and responsibility.
