On September 29, 2011, The Foundation for Kansai Region Promotion was established, and began new activities.
The Foundation will unfold its activities on a broader scale by taking over the promotion businesses of international tourism, cultural activities, and international public relations for the Kansai region, which have been carried out by the Organization of Kansai Unity (KU), in addition
to survey research projects regarding the development of the Osaka Bay area, to which the Osaka Bay Area Development Organization (O-Bay) is committed.
In its international tourism business, The Foundation will provide information dissemination regarding tourism in Kansai and information gathering on overseas markets, in addition to attracting tourists to Kansai. The Foundation runs the portal site "Kansai Window," aimed at domestic and overseas audiences, which includes various topics and the latest information on Kansai.
The objectives of The Foundation is to bring out the total power of the Kansai region—with the diverse individual characters it embraces—and contribute to the development of the region.

This page introduces attractiveness of the Kansai region (Fukui, Shiga, Mie, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo, Nara, Wakayama, Tottori, and Tokushima prefectures). As a general rule, the Foundation for Kansai Region Promotion is available on weekdays between 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Japan Standard Time (excluding 12:00 midday to 1:00 p.m., all year-end and New Year holidays, and Japanese public holidays).
