Last Saturday, July 11, 2026. The Kansai Educators Society (KES) President, Mr. Marlou D. Jimenez, and Vice President, Ms. Lovely A. Jumao-as, had the privilege of attending the MWO Osaka Seminar featuring resource speaker Atty. Manuel M. Dimaano, LL.M., Labor Attaché II and Head of MWO Osaka.
The meaningful session provided valuable insights on important programs and laws that promote awareness, protection, and empowerment among Overseas Filipinos in Japan, including:
✨ 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐆𝐀𝐃) – highlighting the importance of equality, respect, and inclusivity, and of creating opportunities where everyone is valued and empowered, regardless of gender.
✨ 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐭 (𝐑𝐀 𝟏𝟏𝟑𝟏𝟑 / 𝐁𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐰)– strengthening awareness of every individual’s right to a safe, respectful, and harassment-free environment, both in physical and online spaces.
✨ 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 – emphasizing the
importance of vigilance against illegal recruitment, forced labor, and exploitation, while encouraging overseas Filipinos to make informed and safe decisions regarding employment opportunities abroad.
The seminar also introduced LIKHA Global 2026, an inspiring initiative that supports OFWs in transforming their knowledge, skills, and experiences gained overseas into sustainable business opportunities as they prepare for future reintegration in the Philippines.
KES expresses its sincere appreciation to the MWO Osaka team for organizing this impactful initiative and for their continued dedication to providing programs that protect, empower, and uplift the Filipino community in Japan.
As educators and community advocates, KES remains committed to learning, collaborating, and supporting initiatives that create a safer, stronger, and more empowered Filipino community in Kansai.
Together, we grow. Together, we lead.
Empowering Educators. Strengthening Communities.
