The Kansai Educators Society proudly attended the opening parade and program of Pistang Pilipino sa Kansai 2026, organized by One Network Limited with the support of the Philippine Consulate General in Osaka, held on June 6–7, 2026, at Minari Mori Park in Kobe, Japan.

As part of our commitment to serving the Filipino community, KES also volunteered alongside the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Osaka, headed by our Welfare Officer, Mr. Jonel Q. Habon, assisting Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) with OWWA membership registration and the processing of their OWWA e-Cards.

OWWA Deputy Administrator Atty Jasmine Ann Gapatan also graced the two-day celebration together with her team and some officials from OWWA Manila, whose presence highlighted the Philippine government's continued support for Filipinos living and working abroad.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the organizers, One Network Limited, the Philippine Consulate General in Osaka headed by Consul General Hon. Donna M. Rodriguez, OWWA and MWO, all participating organizations, volunteers, performers, exhibitors, sponsors, and every member of the Filipino community who contributed to the success of this meaningful event.

Thank you for your dedication, cooperation, and unwavering support in bringing Filipinos together through culture, service, and community spirit. Your efforts made Pistang Pilipino sa Kansai 2026 a truly memorable and successful celebration.

Good day, KES! 💙

Filipino community leaders, workers, and residents from various Filipino organizations and communities across the Kansai region gathered for the Kumustahan sa Osaka 2026: OWWA E-Card Issuance and FilCom Consultation Forum, a meaningful event that strengthened the connection between government agencies and the Filipino community in Japan on May 30, 2026.

The forum was attended by distinguished officials from the Philippine government and its attached agencies, including:

• Atty. Patricia Yvonne " PY" Caunan – OWWA Administrator
• Rosalia Susana S. Bahia-Catapang – OWWA Deputy Administrator

• Rosalie T. Sajo – Assistant Labor Attaché, MWO Osaka
• Jonel Q. Habon – OWWA Osaka, Welfare Officer

• Geronico M. Herrera – OWWA Tokyo Welfare Officer

During the consultation forum, representatives from the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) presented their latest programs, services, and initiatives designed to support Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families. Participants were also allowed to raise questions and concerns directly to government officials, who provided valuable information and guidance regarding labor, welfare, and community-related matters.

The event also facilitated the issuance of OWWA E-Cards, bringing essential government services closer to Filipinos residing in Japan while promoting awareness of the benefits and assistance available to OWWA members.

The Kansai Educators Society (KES) proudly volunteered during the event, contributing to its smooth implementation and demonstrating its continued commitment to community service and support for initiatives that empower and inform Filipinos abroad.

The strong participation of various Filipino communities highlighted the unity, cooperation, and active engagement of Filipinos in Japan. Through open dialogue and collaboration, the forum served as an important platform for strengthening government-community relations and ensuring that the voices of Filipinos overseas are heard.

The success of the Kumustahan sa Osaka 2026 reflects the collective effort of government agencies, community organizations, and volunteers working together toward a more informed, empowered, and connected Filipino community in Japan.

The Kansai Educators Society (KES) proudly and successfully conducted its Courtesy Call and Oath-Taking Ceremony of Officers on 6th of May 2026, at the Philippine Consulate General in Osaka.

Led by KES President Marlou D. Jimenez, together with the newly elected officers, the delegation was joined by the invaluable support and guidance of KES Advisers Ms. Lea Bartiquin and Mr. July Bartiquin during this significant milestone. The courtesy call served as an opportunity to formally introduce the organization, its officers, and its commitment to empowering Filipino educators while fostering stronger community engagement in the Kansai region.

The meaningful ceremony was graciously facilitated by Consul General Hon. Donna M. Rodriguez, whose leadership and support made the event truly memorable and inspiring for all attendees. The oath-taking officially marked the beginning of the officers’ dedication to serve with professionalism, integrity, and commitment to the mission and vision of KES.
