🎖️ VFW Post 9723: Standing Strong for Our Veterans & Their Families 🎖️
VFW Post 9723 is proud to highlight the meaningful work our members and volunteers have accomplished over the past month. Through outreach, advocacy, and community engagement, we’ve been focused on connecting Veterans and their families with the critical resources and support they’ve earned.
From strengthening partnerships with local agencies to raising awareness about available benefits and services, our team remains committed to making a real difference right here at home.
We’re grateful for the continued support of our community and invite you to stay involved as we carry this mission forward. Together, we can ensure no Veteran stands alone. ❤️
- The Post has remained actively engaged in serving the community by providing briefs to two of its four adopted units, resulting in the recruitment of four new members.
- The Post continues to uplift the community through the Retiree Activities Office (RAO), which assisted 20 veterans with submitting disability claims and provided guidance on the separation and retirement processes. Additionally, the RAO supported eight widows and dependents by assisting them with navigating benefits through the VA, Social Security, DFAS, and DEERS.
- The Commander continues to serve as the lead liaison for the Retiree Activities Office in Okinawa, Japan.
- The United States Army Garrison Okinawa has incorporated the RAO into its monthly retirement and employment seminars.
- The Post also conducts a monthly seminar titled “DA SCOOP,” which provides valuable information on how to obtain benefits.
- Comrade Doug McLaughlin presented information on employment opportunities.
- Comrade Lee led outreach efforts by supporting the Torii Station Food Pantry, assisting in the delivery of food to service members and families in need within the Okinawa community.
