Are you receiving critical updates and emergency warnings? All SOFA personnel (sponsors and dependents) are highly encouraged to register for the Alert! Mass Notification System. This system is your direct line to essential safety information, severe weather alerts, and emergency communications on the installation.



How to register:
If you have a CAC and access to a government network, log in to the Alert! system and update your contact information today!

No government computer access? No problem!

If you do not have access to a government computer system, your SOFA sponsor can easily enroll you. Sponsors can add family members or dependents to their own profiles to ensure everyone receives these vital emergency communication products.

Don't wait for an emergency to happen—ensure you and your family are connected today!

Yesterday I went to the Commanders Key Support Continuing Education Emergency Preparedness Training.

Two acronyms to know are MAD and NEO:

Military Assisted Departure (MAD) is a Department of State (DoS) requested—but voluntarily executed—evacuation of U.S. citizens and designated personnel from dangerous environments where commercial travel is no longer viable.

A Noncombatant Evacuation Operation (NEO) is a military-led mission to rapidly evacuate civilian noncombatants, military dependents, and nonessential personnel from dangerous foreign environments to designated safe havens.

Basics:
If dependents and pets (situatuon, space and time permitting) would be evacuated in response to an incoming natural/man made threat or in the aftermath of one.

1. Work with spouse to fill out your MAD / NEO folder. The servicemember may or may not evacuate so we (dependents) should have the physical documents and be aware of what is inside.

* If there are questions the unit NEO Warden can help.

2. You'll want to have this packet in an accessible location. This packet is commonly called a "red folder" because traditionally a red folder has been used to hold these documents.

3. You'll want to be able to quickly collect the evacuating family members important documents.

- Passports
- IDs
- Birth Certificates
- Vaccination history
- Social Security Cards
- Copy of PCS & Deployment Orders if applicable
- Powers of Attorney
- Pet vaccination information ..ect

4. 72hrs of food, water, toiletries and Yen/USD for each family member / pets needs.

Theses are uncommon events but keeping your package updated and completed to the best of your ability will decrease the stress during what will be a stressful enough situation.

If there is interest we can look at filling oit these documents together in a low threat sit down.

We can ask for each flights NEO Warden's to try and make time for real-time support and the Wing's program managers for any family specific questions we encounter.
