三沢国際サマーフェスティバルの神輿パレード参加者募集中！

The Misawa International Association is looking for participants to join us in carrying a “mikoshi”, or portable shrine, during the Misawa Summer Festival. Come experience the excitement for yourself!
みさわ国際交流協会の皆さんと、「みこし」を担いで日米の交流を深めませんか？

📅 8月22日（土）Saturday, August 22nd　14:00 – 15:45
📌Meeting location: ENEOS Gas Station near MaxValu

👟Clothing: Please wear clothes that are easy to move in, including sneakers, a plain T-shirt, and shorts. It will be hot! 🔥
当日は暑くなることが予想されますので、Tシャツと短パンなど、動きやすく涼しい服装でお越しください。

💴 Participation fee
$20/2500円 for ages 12+
$10 for ages 6-11 years old
$5 for kids 3-5 years old
Participation fee includes rental jackets, drinks, snacks, and insurance.

Open Campus for On-Base Universities Held on Misawa Air Base 🇺🇸 🇯🇵

🎓7月27日（月）、令和8年度のオープンキャンパスを米軍三沢基地内で開催しました！

当日は、基地内の大学に興味のある方を対象に、基地内ツアーや図書館・カフェテリアの見学、各大学による概要説明、模擬授業などを行いました。

On Monday, July 27th, the 2026 On-Base University Open Campus was held on Misawa Air Base. Participants enjoyed a base tour, visited facilities available to students, including the library and cafeteria, heard presentations from each university, and immersed themselves in English through demonstration lessons.

三沢基地内での学びは、語学力の向上にとどまらず、異文化を直接体験し、理解を深め、世界へ羽ばたく絶好の機会です。🌍🎓

Studying at the On-Base Universities offers a unique opportunity to boost your English skills, gain a deeper understanding of cross-cultural communication, and open the doors to your global future – all while still living in Japan! 🎓🌏

なお、10月中旬には、基地内大学説明会を三沢市国際交流教育センターにて開催予定です。進学を検討中の方、保護者の方、または国際教育や三沢基地内大学県民就学推進事業に関心のある方のご参加をお待ちしております！

An information session about the enrollment process for the On-base Universities is planned for mid-October. We look forward to welcoming prospective students, parents, and anyone interested in the Misawa On-Base University Prefectural Enrollment Promotion Program to come and learn about the program. (Details to come soon.)

【県内の国際理解講座のご紹介📢】

青森県観光国際交流機構による 「やさしい日本語」講座が開催されます！

「やさしい日本語」とは、日本に住む外国人に何かを伝えたい時、日本語をわかりやすく言い換えて伝える方法のひとつです。 近年、県内に住む外国人が増えており、コミュニケーションの必要性が高まっています。 この講座では、「やさしい日本語」の概要や使い方について学びます。

⚠️ Note: This seminar is intended for Japanese speakers who want to learn how to simplify their Japanese to communicate smoothly with foreign residents. It is not a class for learning Japanese.

【三沢市姉妹都市友好親善使節団 🇯🇵🤝🇺🇸 帰朝報告会】🎤
Misawa Sister City Goodwill Delegation – Trip Report Session

６月２７日（土）、三沢市姉妹都市委員会は、２０２６年三沢市姉妹都市友好親善使節団による帰朝報告会を開催しました。

団員それぞれが、アメリカ合衆国ワシントン州のシアトル及び三沢市の姉妹都市であるウェナッチ市と東ウェナッチ市での経験、現地の方々との心温まる出会い、そして今後の交流への期待について、心のこもった体験談を語りました。特に中学生大使は英語での発表に挑戦し、その後、ウェナッチバレーでの送別晩餐会で披露した「ソーラン節」パフォーマンスを再演してくれました。

帰朝報告会にお越しいただいた皆さま、そして保護者、先生方、日頃よりこの交流を支援してくださっている地域の方々にも心より感謝申し上げます。

９月２９日（火）から１０月４日（日）まで、２０２６年ウェナッチバレー姉妹都市親善使節団が三沢を訪れます。またお会いできるのを楽しみにしています！

On Saturday, June 27th, the 2026 Misawa Sister City Goodwill Delegation Trip Report was held here at the Misawa International Center.

The delegates reflected on their experiences in Seattle and Misawa’s sister cities of Wenatchee and East Wenatchee earlier this spring, the connections they made with local people, and their hopes for continued exchange between our communities.
The student ambassadors even challenged themselves by presenting in English, and recreated the Soran-bushi performance that they gave at the farewell dinner in the Wenatchee Valley!

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the session, and delegates and their families, teachers and the community members who support this exchange year-round.

The 2026 Wenatchee Valley Delegation will visit Misawa from September 29 to October 4th, and we can’t wait to host them! See you soon!
