On the second floor (departure lobby) of Kushiro Airport, there is an exhibition of landscape paintings of eastern Hokkaido by the world-renowned painter, Bin Kashiwa. Bin Kashiwa (real name: Shunichi Kashiwazaki, May 15, 1944 - September 6, 2023) was a painter from Kushiro City, Hokkaido. After working as a hotel employee, he suddenly began to pursue a career as a painter, and continued to paint for tourists on Montmartre Hill in Paris. His works, including a fairytale-like world depicting the good old days of Paris, a fantastical world depicting paradise, and the "Family" series themed on human love, continue to capture the hearts of many people. He died on September 6, 2023.
