The 518th regular meeting took place on Friday, March 6, with a total of 8 participants (6 on-site, including 1 guest, and 2 online). W-san, the club's VPE (Vice President Education) and Game Master, served as the Toastmaster of the Evening (TMoE). The meeting followed a "3 on 3" format, featuring three prepared speech presenters and three speech evaluators. S-san was responsible for three roles: Grammarian, Ah Counter, and Timer. The "Word of the Day" selected by Grammarian S was "articulate," introduced with meanings such as "to state clearly" or "to express distinctly. In the Table Topics session, S.A posed three questions, and guest H-san also responded. H-san was selected as the Best Table Topic Speaker. The first Prepared Speech was delivered by A-san, an English teacher and the club's Secretary. This was her second speech on "Inclusive Education," which had been improved based on feedback from her previous presentation. The second Prepared Speech was given by I-san, the club's President, and CEO (Chief Entertainment Officer). The speech covered a report on the attempts and lessons learned from the project "For Acquiring 1 Member," and future endeavors. Notably, the meeting schedule on the first and third Friday evenings was highlighted as unique compared to other Toastmasters clubs in Japan, with only three clubs holding meetings at this time. The third Prepared Speech was an excellent icebreaker by I-san, a former club president and retired judge. From his experience involved in establishing the lay judge system as a judge, I-san realized that many people lack knowledge about it. He recognized that his experience as a judge involved in the lay judge system, combined with his 20 years in Toastmasters connecting with many people of diverse backgrounds, was a rare case. I-san's mission is "to make the court closer to the public" and he stated his intention to share the scenes he has observed in court, along with the scenes observed by people outside the court, during his remaining 8 years in his 70s. I-san's speech was selected as the Best Prepared Speech. The club usually meets on the first and third Fridays of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Creative Hall near the north exit of Hachioji Station, but since it is a hybrid with Zoom, you can participate regardless of where you are. 第518回定例会は3月6日（金）に開催され、オンサイト参加者（ゲスト1名を含む）6名とオンライン参加者2名の合計8名が参加しました。当クラブのVPE兼ゲームマスターであるWさんが、会議進行役（TMoE）を務めました。例会は、3名のスピーチ発表者と3名のスピーカー審査員の「3 on 3」形式で行われました。Sさんは、Grammarian、Ah Counter、Timerの3つの役割を担当しました。GrammarianのSさんが選んだ「今宵の言葉」は「articulate」で、「明確に言う」「はっきりと述べる・表現する」といった意味が紹介されました。テーブルトピックのセッションでは、S.Aが3つの質問を提示し、ゲストのHさんも回答されました。Hさんはベストテーブルトピックスピーカーに選ばれました。最初のスピーチは、英語教師であり当クラブのセクレタリーであるAさんが担当しました。このスピーチは、前回のフィードバックを基に改善された「インクルーシブ教育」に関する2回目のスピーチでした。2人目のスピーチは、当クラブの会長兼CEO（Chief Entertainment Officer）のIさんが担当しました。スピーチ内容は「1名のメンバーを獲得のために」のプロジェクトの試みの報告と教訓、そして今後の試みについてでした。特に、第1・3金曜の夜という例会開催日時が、日本国内の他のトーストマスターズクラブと比較して個性的であり、この時間帯に例会を開催しているクラブが3つのみであるという点が印象的でした。3人目のスピーチは、当クラブの元会長であり元裁判官のIさんによる素晴らしいアイスブレイクスピーチでした。Iさんは、裁判官として裁判員制度の構築に携わった経験から、多くの人々が裁判員制度について知識がないことに気づき、この経験と、20年前にトーストマスターズに入会して多様な経歴を持つ人々と交流したことが、裁判官として裁判員制度に携わった経験と結びついたかなり稀な事例であると認識しました。Iさんのミッションは「裁判所を国民に近づけること」であり、今後8年間の70代で、自身が裁判所で見てきた風景と合わせて裁判所の外の人々が見てきた風景について共有していきたいと述べられました。Iさんのスピーチはベストスピーチに選ばれました。当クラブは通常は第１、第３金曜日19時から八王子駅北口近くのクリエートホールに集まっていますが、Zoomを交えたハイブリッドですので、場所を問わず参加できます。ゲスト参加や見学をお待ちしております。インスタグラムのフォローもよろしくお願いいたします。
