Oita Bamboo Industry and Culture Association（大分県竹産業文化振興連合会） A chief organization for promoting bamboo industry of Oita Prefecture Japan, established in July 2012.（大分の竹を世界へ） TAKE is the word for bamboo in Japanese.

Oita Prefecture is a region very well known for the production of superior madake bamboo as well as for its hotsprings.Oita's economy grew rapidly in the Muromachi Period(1392-1573) and bamboo craftsmen were kept very busy making baskets for merchants who needed to store and transport their products. In the late 19th century bamboo craftsmen became fine artists wishing to express a personal style,

and this trend continues with amazing sculptural creativity up to the present. Oita has now five bamboo organizations such as produce, art, culture, distribution and preservation. They have got together and established this association to revitalize the bamboo industry by opening up a new market.
