Pro Terra Sancta Jordan Registered in Jordan since 2020 under the Ministry of Social Development. Based in Jabal Al-Weibdeh, Amman.

We promote and protect cultural heritage through education, youth empowerment, and tourism initiatives. Pro Terra Sancta has been registered in Jordan since 2020 under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD), as a branch of an international NGO. Its main office is in Jabal Al-Weibdeh (Amman), near the Holy Land College, within the buildings owned by the Custody of the Holy La

nd. Pro Terra Sancta in Jordan has a well trained team for both management support and a staff of expertise for the implementation of cultural heritage educational activities. In collaboration with Pro Terra Sancta team in Italy, the office in Jordan implemented various activities and programs that align with the objectives and goals of promoting and conserving cultural heritage: capacity building programs for archeology/anthropology graduates to get employment in the cultural heritage labor market, educational and awareness activities for school children about sites of christian biblical value, capacity building of tourist guides involved in Christian pilgrimage tours and economic empowerment of youth in the tourism sector.

On Wednesday, May 20th, Pro Terra Sancta participated in the Career and Heritage Day organized by the Faculty of Archaeology And Anthropology at Yarmouk University. As part of the Career Day activities, representatives from various partner institutions and organizations introduced students to career pathways and opportunities available to recent graduates. During his presentation, Mr. Tareq Rizqallah highlighted Pro Terra Sancta’s mission, key projects, and the training and professional development opportunities offered by the association. The event also featured a Heritage Day celebration held at the Museum of Jordanian Heritage, showcasing Jordan’s rich cultural heritage through traditional exhibitions, local cuisine, and folkloric performances, including Dabke. The day concluded with a ceremony honoring the top students from the faculty’s departments. Graduates presented short videos representing their academic programs, followed by an awards ceremony and commemorative photos celebrating their achievements.

في يوم الأربعاء الموافق 20 أيار، شاركت جمعية ترسنطا في اليوم الوظيفي والتراثي الذي نظمته كلية الآثار والأنثروبولوجيا في جامعة اليرموك. وكجزء من فعاليات اليوم الوظيفي، قدم ممثلون عن مؤسسات ومنظمات مختلفة الشريكة تعريفًا للطلبة بالمسارات المهنية والفرص المتاحة للخريجين الجدد. وخلال مشاركته، استعرض السيد طارق رزق الله رسالة جمعية ترسنطا وأبرز مشاريعها، بالإضافة إلى الفرص التدريبية وفرص التطوير المهني التي توفرها الجمعية. كما تضمن الحدث فعالية اليوم التراثي التي أُقيمت في متحف التراث الأردني، حيث تم تسليط الضوء على غنى التراث الثقافي الأردني من خلال المعارض التراثية والمأكولات الشعبية والعروض الفلكلورية المتنوعة، بما في ذلك الدبكة. واختُتم اليوم بحفل لتكريم أوائل الأقسام في الكلية، حيث قدم الخريجون مقاطع فيديو قصيرة تمثل برامجهم الأكاديمية، تلاها حفل توزيع الجوائز والتقاط الصور التذكارية احتفاءًا بإنجازاتهم.

As part of the Heritage Education Program, students from grades 8–10 at مدرسة اللاتين الثانوية المختلطة/ الزرقاء الشمالي participated in interactive activities that connected them with Jordan’s cultural heritage. The program included educational workshops, a field visit to Mount Nebo to explore its historical and religious significance, and a hands-on mosaic activity that encouraged creative expression. The program concluded with a closing ceremony where certificates were awarded to students and teachers. Words of appreciation were exchanged between the School Principal Mr. Raafat Bawab, Fr. Eyad Bader, and Mr. Tariq Rezeqallah, highlighting the importance of collaboration in preserving and promoting cultural heritage. Through these activities, students gained a deeper appreciation of Jordan’s cultural identity engagingly and memorably.

كجزء من برنامج التعليم التراثي، شارك طلاب الصفوف الثامن والتاسع والعاشر في مدرسة اللاتين الثانوية المختلطة – الزرقاء الشمالية في مجموعة من الأنشطة التفاعلية التي هدفت إلى ربطهم بالتراث الثقافي الأردني. تضمن البرنامج ورشات عمل تعليمية، وزيارة ميدانية إلى جبل نيبو للتعرف على أهميته التاريخية والدينية والثقافية، بالإضافة إلى نشاط عملي لصناعة الفسيفساء أتاح للطلاب التعبير بشكل إبداعي عما تعلموه. واختُتم البرنامج بحفل ختامي تم خلاله توزيع الشهادات على الطلاب والمعلمين المشاركين. كما جرى تبادل كلمات الشكر والتقدير بين السيد رأفت بواب، والأب إياد بدر، والسيد طارق رزق الله، مؤكدين أهمية التعاون في الحفاظ على التراث الثقافي وتعزيز الوعي به. وقد أسهمت هذه الأنشطة في تعزيز تقدير الطلاب للهوية الثقافية الأردنية بطريقة ممتعة وتفاعلية.

As part of the Heritage Education Program, students from مدرسة اللاتين الثانوية المختلطة/ الزرقاء الشمالي participated in a series of interactive activities aimed at connecting them with Jordan’s rich cultural heritage. The program began with introductory sessions for 6th-grade students on April 22 and 7th-grade students on April 23, where students explored the concepts of culture and heritage through engaging games and discussions. On May 6, 6th-grade students visited The Jordan Museum متحف الأردن and explored Jordan’s history through an educational tour, followed by a hands-on booklet activity about the Madaba Mosaic that included reading, coloring, and creative mosaic-making. On May 7, 7th-grade students took part in an educational visit to Mount Nebo, where they learned about the site’s historical and cultural significance. The program concluded on May 12 with a hands-on mosaic activity at school, allowing students to creatively express what they had learned throughout the program. Through these activities, students experienced heritage in an interactive and memorable way that encouraged learning, creativity, and appreciation for Jordan’s cultural identity.

ضمن برنامج التعليم التراثي، شارك طلبة المدرسة اللاتينية الثانوية المختلطة – الزرقاء الشمالي في سلسلة من الأنشطة التفاعلية التي هدفت إلى ربطهم بالتراث الثقافي الغني في الأردن. بدأ البرنامج بجلسات تعريفية لطلبة الصف السادس بتاريخ 22 نيسان، ولطلبة الصف السابع بتاريخ 23 نيسان، حيث استكشف الطلبة مفاهيم الثقافة والتراث من خلال ألعاب ونقاشات تفاعلية ممتعة. وفي 6 أيار، زار طلبة الصف السادس متحف الأردن، حيث استكشفوا تاريخ الأردن من خلال جولة تعليمية، تلاها نشاط عملي باستخدام كتيّب تعليمي حول فسيفساء مادبا، تضمن القراءة والتلوين وتصميم نماذج فسيفسائية إبداعية. أما في 7 أيار، فقد شارك طلبة الصف السابع في زيارة تعليمية إلى جبل نيبو، حيث تعرّفوا على الأهمية التاريخية والثقافية للموقع. واختُتم البرنامج في 12 أيار بنشاط عملي للفسيفساء داخل المدرسة، أتاح للطلبة التعبير بشكل إبداعي عمّا تعلموه خلال البرنامج. ومن خلال هذه الأنشطة، عاش الطلبة تجربة تفاعلية ومميزة مع التراث، شجعتهم على التعلّم والإبداع وتقدير الهوية الثقافية الأردنية.

On April 25, 6th-grade students from مدرسة دير اللاتين-الهاشمي الشمالي Latin hashimi participated in activities within the Heritage Education Program through an educational visit to The Jordan Museum متحف الأردن. The visit aimed to provide students with an interactive learning experience that connected them to Jordan’s rich historical and cultural heritage. During the visit, students explored the museum’s exhibitions through a chronological journey across different historical periods in Jordan, allowing them to engage with real artifacts and better understand the stories and civilizations that shaped the country’s heritage. The experience also encouraged students to reflect on what they observed and learned throughout the tour. As part of the Heritage Education Program, Pro Terra Sancta organized a meaningful educational and cultural trip on Tuesday, May 5, in collaboration with the Latin church for Iraqi Refugees, students from different grades. The visit included the Church of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist in Madaba, followed by a visit to Mount Nebo, the memorial site of Prophet Moses. During the trip, students explored the spiritual, historical, and cultural significance of these important heritage sites. At the church, they admired the remarkable mosaics and learned more about the rich artistic and religious heritage reflected in the site. The visit continued to Mount Nebo, where students discovered the historical and religious importance of the location through engaging explanations and guided discussions. The trip provided students with a valuable opportunity to connect with Jordan’s cultural and religious heritage interactively and memorably, while encouraging learning, curiosity, and appreciation for history and identity.

ضمن برنامج التعليم التراثي ، نظّمت جمعية ترسنطا رحلة تعليمية وثقافية مميزة يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 5 أيار، بالتعاون مع الكنيسة اللاتينية للطلبة العراقيين من مختلف الصفوف. وشملت الزيارة كنيسة قطع رأس يوحنا المعمدان في مأدبا، تلاها زيارة إلى جبل نيبو، مقام النبي موسى عليه السلام. وخلال الرحلة، تعرّف الطلبة على الأهمية الروحية والتاريخية والثقافية لهذه المواقع التراثية المهمة. ففي الكنيسة، تأملوا جمال الفسيفساء المميزة وتعرّفوا على الإرث الفني والديني الغني الذي يعكسه الموقع. ثم استكملت الزيارة إلى جبل نيبو، حيث اكتشف الطلبة الأهمية التاريخية والدينية للمكان من خلال الشروحات التفاعلية والنقاشات الهادفة. وقد أتاحت هذه الرحلة للطلبة فرصة قيّمة للتواصل مع التراث الثقافي والديني في الأردن بطريقة تفاعلية ومميزة، مما عزّز لديهم روح التعلّم والفضول والتقدير للتاريخ والهوية.

The Heritage Education Program with 5th-grade students from Latin Secondary Mixed School – North Zarqa began on April 21 with an interactive introductory session about culture and cultural heritage, featuring engaging games and activities. On May 4, students visited The Jordan Museum متحف الأردن, where they explored Jordan’s history through a chronological educational tour that connected their learning to real historical artifacts and stories The program concluded with a hands-on mosaic activity using a guided booklet, where students learned about the significance of mosaic art through reading, coloring, and creating their own mosaic designs, encouraging creativity and a deeper appreciation for Jordanian heritage.

As part of the Restoration course held in collaboration between Pro Terra Sancta and Faculty of Archaeology And Anthropology at Yarmouk University, students from the faculty participating in the course led by Franco Sciorilli joined a field trip to Madaba on Saturday, May 9, to explore restoration and preservation work across some of Jordan’s most significant archaeological and religious sites. The visit included Madaba Cathedral, the Madaba Archaeological Museum and Park, the Church of the Virgin Mary, the Burnt Palace, the Church of the Martyrs, the Map Church, Khirbet Al-Mukhayyat, and Mount Nebo. Throughout the tour, students explored ancient mosaics, restoration techniques, and the historical significance of each site while engaging in discussions on preservation and conservation practices. The experience provided participants with a valuable opportunity to connect archaeology, history, and restoration through direct observation and insights shared by Franco Sciorilli.

كجزء من دورة الترميم التي عُقدت بالتعاون بين جمعية ترسنطا وكلية الآثار والأنثروبولوجيا في جامعة اليرموك، شارك طلبة الكلية المشاركون في الدورة التي قادها فرانكو شيوريلي في رحلة ميدانية إلى مادبا يوم السبت الموافق 9 أيار، بهدف التعرّف على أعمال الترميم والحفاظ على عدد من أهم المواقع الأثرية والدينية في الأردن. شملت الزيارة كاتدرائية مادبا، ومتحف مادبا الأثري، ومنتزه مادبا الأثري، وكنيسة السيدة العذراء، والقصر المحترق، وكنيسة الشهداء، وكنيسة الخارطة، وخربة المخيط، وجبل نيبو. وخلال الجولة، تعرّف الطلبة على الفسيفساء القديمة، وتقنيات الترميم، والأهمية التاريخية لكل موقع، إلى جانب المشاركة في نقاشات حول مفاهيم الحفظ والترميم. وقد أتاحت هذه التجربة للمشاركين فرصة قيّمة للربط بين علم الآثار والتاريخ وأعمال الترميم من خلال الملاحظة المباشرة والاستفادة من خبرات فرانكو شيوريلي.
