Since early August, hostilities have intensified across parts of Yemen, with a sharp escalation reported in and around Ta’izz and along the western coastal areas. People have been killed and injured, while disruptions to roads, ports and communications are restricting movement and access to essential supplies.
According to the International Organization for Migration, nearly 94,000 people have now been displaced, and the number continues to rise as the fighting persists.
This escalation comes amid an already severe humanitarian crisis. After more than a decade of conflict, millions of people are struggling with hunger, rising prices and weakened basic services. Further disruption to food and fuel supplies could place even more families at risk.

We call on all parties to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure, respect international humanitarian law, and ensure safe and unhindered humanitarian access. Yemen’s people cannot be made to endure another escalation of violence and displacement.
