When members of the Greater GIVE Foundation based in Spanish Town, St Catherine, visited Vevine Street at her home off March Pen Road on Thursday, she greeted them with tear-filled eyes after realising that they came to hand her a much-needed wheelchair.

BACK TO SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE

The G.I.V.E. (GIVING back to the community will INSPIRE VICTORY in EVERYONE) Foundation is committed in improving the lives of people who have fallen on hard times and can no longer fend for themselves or have anyone to help them.

In December, Envoy Thomas and Michael Tulloch embarked on a mission to deliver at least 90 gift packages of rice, canned mackerel, canned beans, sugar, condensed milk, bread, biscuits, toilet paper and soap powder (as well as other things).

This was done over 2 days to residents in need in Kitson Town, March Pen Road, Duncans Pen, Corlett’s Road and other communities in St. Catherine.

MISSION STATEMENT

GREATER G.I.V.E. FOUNDATION will Train, Educate, and Develop Future Leaders, by demonstrating Love and Restoring Hope in communities that are affected by poverty, crime, violence and lack of resources and opportunities.

CREATE

Establish sustainable projects that will have a lasting impact on the communities we work with, and the volunteers and sponsors who work with the Greater G.I.V.E. Foundation.

PURPOSE

Provide the necessary resources, to Train, Education, and Develop future leaders in their community. Giving back to the Children and Elderly by showing love and providing basic necessities to ensure that the communities that are affected by poverty, crime, violence and lack of resources and opportunity is given HOPE in a hopeless situation

PLAN OF ACTION

1.Organize a Board of Directors that will oversee and manage all operations to enable transparency and accountability.

2.Establish an organization that will provide the resources to Train, Educate, and develop future leaders, by empowering the community with the necessary skills and equipment (i.e. tools, computers, books, tutors) to Restore Hope and provide an opportunity to achieve there fullest potential and contribute to all aspects of life.

3.Establish recreational activities; such as sports teams, and community work groups for everyone to be apart of.

4.Organize a community food pantry that focus on feeding the hungry.


VALUABLE RESOURCES REQUIRED

●Donations is the primary mode to acquire all require resources

●Volunteers are required to provide the necessary manpower

●Community Leaders will be vital to the success of this project

●Establish a vigorous fundraising effort
