Moose - just under 6 months old, gorgeous, neutered male. Moose was found riddled with mange in a park when he was about 10 weeks old. He has been with us ever since and now has the softest, silkiest fur. Moose is good with cats, absolutely loves all other dogs and fantastic with children. ✈️JAMAICA TO TAMPA OR MIAMI, ANY FLIGHT ANGELS OUT THERE? 🇯🇲🇺🇸

We have a couple of our pups who are now old enough to make the journey to the U.S., and, even better, they’re still small enough to travel in the cabin in an airline-approved carrier!

First up is our girl HONEY!

We’re looking for kind-hearted travellers flying from Jamaica to Tampa or Miami with either American Airlines or JetBlue who might be willing to help one of our rescue pups get one step closer to her forever home.

Our ultimate goal is to get Honey to Tampa, but Miami works too! If you’re flying into Miami, we can work on arranging onward transportation to Tampa.

We take care of the paperwork, airline arrangements and pet travel fees. We coordinate everything, so all you have to do is travel with a furry little passenger who needs you.

You don’t need to be a dog person to be a flight angel, you just need a little room under your seat and a willingness to help change a life!

🚨 URGENT DONATION APPEAL: TIKI NEEDS US! 🚨

Last week, we brought Tiki in for her spay. She’s a very unsocialized girl who has been living with her mom, grandma and uncle in an area where some kind humans have been keeping an eye on the family.

After her spay, we returned her to her familiar surroundings. But when we went back to check on her we knew she wasn’t well and brought her back in.

We initially suspected spay complications. She wasn’t eating, her breathing was abnormal, and she was getting worse by the day.

We’ve tried IV fluids, steroids and antibiotics, but nothing has turned things around.

So this morning, we made the trip down to Kingston and brought her to Island Mobile, who have been absolutely fantastic in helping us investigate what’s happening.

Everything is pointing towards suspected Gramaxone poisoning.

Based on the timeline and what we’re learning, we suspect Tiki may have been exposed shortly before her spay. She appeared fine throughout the procedure, but began declining afterwards. We fear the poisoning was already happening, and we simply didn’t know.

We are now at the hospital, where Tiki is receiving further treatment.

The recommendation has been euthanasia. But we’ve recently seen some incredible survival stories, and we’re not ready to give up on this girl just yet.

We’re bringing her home to continue fighting for her.

We want to give Tiki every possible chance at a life beyond the streets, a life where she can be safe, loved and never have to worry about where her next meal is coming from.

BUT WE NEED HELP. DESPERATELY.

Ginger has been adopted!! We had to share the deets on this one because it was just too cute not to share. Ginger has her own beach! From born on the street side watching her siblings get run over by vehicles, to having her own beach, a new bestie and humans that truly adore her! 💛 Have fun lil Ging, see you in a few weeks for your spay 💛

We had another last minute opening, so we squeezed our famous Big B***y Miss Mayball in!

Miss Mabel is now officially spayed and microchipped, getting her one step closer to a brighter future. When her dream forever home comes along, she’ll be ready to fly off this island and start her new life!

Now we have two spays waiting for sponsors!

We haven’t had any takers yet for yesterday’s neighbourhood spay, and we’re now looking for sponsors for BOTH girls:

🐾 SPAY SPONSOR NEEDED! 🩷

We had an unexpected opening for a spay this evening, and we weren’t about to let it go to waste!

This mama lives in the Fairy Hill area, not far from Winifred Beach. She’s been a long-time puppy contributor in the area, but sadly, most of her litters haven’t survived.

Her daughter Lexi (one of our new rescues) is one of the very few survivors.

This mama’s spay was long overdue, so when we heard there was an opening, we squeezed her in!

Her surgery is now COMPLETE! 🎉 She’s spending the evening recovering at our foster recovery centre and will be safely released back to her home tomorrow.

There’s just one more female left on that property, her older teenage daughter, who is still on our catch-and-spay list. Once we get her taken care of, we’ll have covered all the females on that property.

Now we’re looking for a SPAY SPONSOR!

GINGER IS STILL WAITING. WHO IS GOING TO GIVE THIS GIRL HER HAPPY ENDING? 🩷

Her brother has found his forever home, and we’ve made sure the rest of the family is taken care of. Her mom has been spayed, along with her auntie and uncle.

But there’s one little girl we haven’t been able to find a home for yet. Ginger is still sitting in foster care, watching the days go by and waiting for someone to choose her.

She’s approximately 12 weeks old, very quick learner, full of puppy personality and ready to find her very own family.

🐾 Will be spayed before going to her forever home

Ginger can be adopted island wide, travel to Canada, and needs a bit more time for US.

We really don’t understand why this little girl keeps getting overlooked. She’s everything you’d want in a puppy, and we just want her to experience what her brother has already found: a family of her own, a safe place to sleep, people to love her and a lifetime of being someone’s special girl. 💛

Sometimes rescue comes with the happiest endings. And sometimes it comes with reminders of just how desperately these little lives need us.

This week, Cooper and Ash, found their forever homes. 💙

Cooper’s story has been especially close to our hearts. We found him at a garbage dump, and just two days after bringing him to safety, another puppy was found dead in that exact same location.

I hadn’t seen that pup before. I didn’t know it was there. And I can’t help thinking about how easily that could have been Cooper.

We wish we could save every single one. And honestly, with more foster homes, we could save so many more.

A temporary home can be the difference between a dog waiting for a chance and a dog actually getting one. We provide the medical care, vaccines and support. We just need more people willing to open their homes, even temporarily.

This week, two more Jamaican puppies got their happily ever afters. And there are so many more waiting for theirs.

NEUTER SPONSOR NEEDED! ✂️

Ash was neutered yesterday alongside Daisy and Winnie’s sister, who also had her spay surgery. We’re so happy to get these procedures done, but now we need help covering the costs!

💔 We still haven’t had anyone come forward to sponsor yesterday’s spay, and we’re now looking for a neuter sponsor for Ash, too.

Our spay and neuter program is so important to the work we do here in Portland, Jamaica. Without sponsors and donations to help cover these procedures, we simply wouldn’t be able to keep the program going. Every sponsored surgery helps us prevent unwanted litters and make a difference for the animals in our community.

🐾 MEET LEXI!

Lexi is our newest little rescue, around 8 weeks old, and she’s already stealing hearts with her adorable Royal Caribbean Terrier ears and her cute little face. 💜

She’s still a baby, so thankfully, she pretty much gets along with everyone! She’s not interested in the cats, and she’s just happy to be part of the action.

Now all this little lady needs is a family of her very own!
