When God Decides It’s Time to Reveal Another Gift*

There are moments in life when you’re not searching for anything new…and yet, something new finds you.
Not because you planned it.
Not because you trained for it.
But because God decided it was time.

That’s what happened to me.

It Started With Something Simple
I set out to create a padded headboard for my daughter’s room.
Nothing extraordinary—just something meaningful, something made with love.
I didn’t overthink it.
I didn’t question if I was “qualified” to do it.
I simply started.
But somewhere between the measuring, cutting, and shaping…
something shifted.

It Wasn’t Just a Project Anymore
What began as a simple DIY task slowly became something deeper.
With every step, I felt a quiet realization rising within me:
I can do this.
Wait… I’m actually good at this.
And just like that, something I had never identified as “my thing”
started to feel like it belonged to me.

God Knows What He Placed in You
Here’s the truth:
This “new” gift may not have been new at all.
It may have always been there, hidden beneath routine, responsibilities, or even self-doubt.
But God, in His perfect timing, knows exactly when to reveal what He has already placed inside you.
Ecclesiastes 3:11*_*says:
He hath made everything beautiful in his time…”
Not before.
Not after.
In His time.

Sometimes the Gift Is Revealed in the Doing
I didn’t discover this sitting still.
I discovered it by doing.
By trying.
By stepping into something unfamiliar.
By allowing myself to create without fear of failure.
And maybe that’s the message right there:
Some gifts are not revealed through thinking
They are revealed through movement.

What If There’s More in You?
How many things have we talked ourselves out of?
• “I’ve never done that before.”
• “That’s not really me.”
• “I wouldn’t even know where to start.”
But what if…
What if the very thing you’re hesitating to try
is the doorway to a gift you didn’t know you had?

What if God is just waiting for you to start,
so He can reveal what’s already inside of you?

A Reminder for You, Sis

You are not limited to what you’ve already discovered about yourself.
God is still revealing you to you.
Still unfolding layers.
Still expanding your capacity.
Still placing new things in your hands at the right time.

1 Corinthians 12:4* reminds us:
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
Which means…
there may be more gifts in you than you’ve even tapped into yet.

Let’s Talk (Savannah Sisterhood Circle
Pause for a moment and reflect:
What have you been afraid to try?
What have you been putting off because it feels unfamiliar?
What if your next gift is on the other side of “just trying”?

Watch the Journey
I’ll be sharing the video of me creating the headboard—not because it’s perfect,
but because it’s proof that:

You don’t have to know everything to start
You don’t have to be an expert to discover a gift
And sometimes… all it takes is one step

Before the Coffee… Who’s Really in Charge of Your Morning?

The first few minutes after you wake up can quietly set the tone for your entire day. Before the coffee brews, before the phone lights up with messages, before the world begins to demand your attention—something is already shaping your thoughts.

For many people, the morning begins with pressure.
Deadlines. Bills. Responsibilities. The mental list of everything that must get done before the day ends.

For others, the morning begins with comparison.
Scrolling through social media, measuring their life against someone else’s highlight reel.

Some wake up already feeling overwhelmed, replaying yesterday’s problems or worrying about what today might bring.

But here’s a question worth pausing on:

What actually controls your mind the moment you wake up?

Is it fear about what could go wrong?
Is it stress about what you haven’t finished?
Is it people’s expectations about who you should be?

Or do you wake up with a sense of purpose, reminding yourself that today is another opportunity to grow, learn, love, and move forward?

The truth is, the first thoughts we allow into our mind often become the lens through which we experience the entire day.

If your morning begins with anxiety, the day can feel like a battle.
If it begins with gratitude, the day can feel like a gift.

Sometimes the shift is as simple as taking a moment before the rush begins to breathe, reflect, and remind yourself that you are not just reacting to life—you are shaping how you walk through it.

One powerful way to center your morning is by anchoring your mind in truth before anything else tries to speak to your day.

“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24

That simple reminder can reset the atmosphere of your morning. It shifts your focus from what could go wrong to the gift of another day to live, grow, and move forward.

You may not control everything that happens today.
But you can control what controls you.

So tomorrow morning, before the noise begins, pause and ask yourself:

What will lead my thoughts today—worry, pressure, and distraction… or intention, gratitude, and purpose?

Now I’m curious…

When you wake up in the morning, what usually controls your first thoughts?
And what mindset or declaration will you choose to start your day with this week?

When Hormones Feel Like Heart Trouble
7 Perimenopause Symptoms That Can Feel Like Heart Problems

Many women enter their 40s and 50s and suddenly experience symptoms that feel frightening — chest tightness, heart racing, shortness of breath, or even throat pressure.

Naturally, the first thought is often, “Is something wrong with my heart?”

Sometimes it is wise to check, but many women are surprised to learn that these sensations can also occur during Perimenopause, the natural hormonal transition before menopause.

As estrogen levels fluctuate, they affect the heart, nervous system, blood vessels, and even breathing patterns. The result can be symptoms that feel very similar to heart problems.

Here are 7 common perimenopause symptoms that often scare women.

1. Heart Palpitations
A sudden racing, pounding, or fluttering heartbeat can happen when hormones shift. Many women describe feeling like their heart “skips a beat.”

2. Chest Tightness or Pressure
Some women feel squeezing or discomfort in the chest during hormonal fluctuations. This can be caused by muscle tension, anxiety, or nervous system changes.

3. Shortness of Breath
Hormonal shifts can affect breathing patterns, making it feel like you cannot get a full breath.

4. Anxiety or Sudden Panic
Many women experience their first panic attacks during perimenopause. The symptoms can include chest pain, rapid heartbeat, sweating, and intense worry.

5. Breast and Chest Wall Pain
Hormones can cause tender breasts and sore chest muscles, which sometimes feel like heart pain.

6. Dizziness or Light-headedness
Estrogen influences blood circulation and blood pressure. Fluctuations can lead to feeling faint or unsteady.

7. Throat Tightness or a “Lump in the Throat”
Some women feel throat pressure or difficulty swallowing. This is often related to anxiety, reflux, or hormonal changes.

A Gentle Reminder

Even though these symptoms are common during perimenopause, never ignore new or severe chest pain. It is always wise to check with a healthcare professional to rule out heart issues.

But once serious conditions are ruled out, many women discover that what they are experiencing is simply their body adjusting to a new hormonal season of life.

And the good news is — you are not alone.

The Savannah Sisterhood Circle is here to create a space where women can learn, share, and support each other through these transitions.

Have you ever experienced any of these symptoms during perimenopause?

Let’s talk about it in the comments. Your story might help another sister feel less alone.

You’re Not Busy. You’re Distracted.

Let’s be honest.
Most of us aren’t overwhelmed because we have too much to do.

We’re overwhelmed because our focus is constantly being pulled.
We say, “I’m busy.”
But how much of that busyness is actually distraction?
• Checking your phone before you even get out of bed.
• Saying yes when your body and mind are already tired.
• Overthinking conversations that are already over.
• Trying to manage everyone else’s emotions.
• Filling every quiet moment with noise.

That’s not productivity.
That’s scattered energy.
And scattered energy creates exhausted women.
You can move all day and still not move forward.
You cannot respond to everyone and still neglect yourself.
You can look active and still be avoiding what actually matters.

Here’s the deeper part.
Sometimes we stay distracted on purpose.
Because if we slow down…

We might hear what we’ve been trying to drown out.
The nudge to set a boundary.
The reminder to rest.
The conviction to let something go.
The idea you’ve been postponing.

Even Scripture says, “Be still…” (Psalm 46:10).
Not because doing is wrong —
but because clarity and often comes in quiet.

If every spare second is filled with scrolling, noise, and urgency…
how will you hear direction?
How will you realign?
This isn’t about becoming hyper-spiritual.
It’s about becoming intentional.

This week, instead of adding something to your schedule…
What if you removed something?
One draining commitment.
One unnecessary yes.
One hour of mindless scrolling.
One habit that’s stealing your discipline.
You don’t need more time.
You need clearer focus.

👇🏽 What is the ONE distraction that has been quietly stealing your focus lately?
Be specific.
And complete this declaration in the comments:

“This week, I’m releasing __________ and choosing intentional living.”

When Did We Stop Celebrating Small Wins?
Be honest.

When did we decide that only “big” counts?
Big promotion.
Big relationship.
Big announcement.
Big milestone.
Big breakthrough.

Somewhere along the way, we quietly agreed that if it isn’t impressive, it isn’t worth celebrating.

But that mindset is exhausting.

You got out of bed when you didn’t feel like it.
You didn’t respond to that message that would’ve started drama.
You kept going when quitting felt easier.
You chose peace over proving a point.
You’re healing in ways no one else can see.

Those are wins.

Yet we minimize them because they don’t trend.

The younger generation feels behind because their progress isn’t fast enough.
The older generation sometimes feels overlooked because their growth isn’t flashy.

But growth has never needed an audience to be valid.

The Steady and Patient God we serve does most of His shaping quietly. Roots grow underground before fruit ever appears. Character develops long before recognition does.

Maybe midweek isn’t about chasing something bigger.

Maybe it’s about acknowledging what’s already moving.

Let’s open this up:

What is one small win you’ve had recently — something you didn’t celebrate, but should have?

Share it. Let’s normalize honouring progress.

The Miracles We Call “Small”

We often wait for healing to arrive loudly. We look for the big miracle. The sudden breakthrough, the instant change, the moment that leaves no doubt God has moved. And while we wait, we sometimes overlook what’s already happening.

The small miracles.
Healing doesn’t always come as a dramatic shift.

Sometimes it comes as preservation.
Sometimes as protection.
Sometimes as making it home safely when, by all accounts, you shouldn’t have.

There are moments we rarely talk about.
* Driving while exhausted.
*Your body heavy.
*Your eyes fighting sleep behind the steering wheel.

Later realizing you don’t even remember the last stretch of the drive. Yet somehow, you arrived home.
Safely.
Unharmed.
Covered.

That is not coincidence.

That is the Ever-Present, Faithful God. The One who watches when we are tired, who covers when we are unaware, who carries us when our strength is low. We call it “just getting home.” God calls it protection.

Healing is not always about what God removes. Sometimes it’s about what He prevents. What He shields.
What He never allows to touch us.
Healing can look like strength to keep going.
Peace in the middle of exhaustion.
Grace that holds you together when you didn’t even know you were at risk of falling apart.

The Merciful and All-Knowing God is present not only in the extraordinary, but in the ordinary moments we rush past. When we slow down, we begin to see just how often we were spared, sustained, and quietly protected.

Maybe healing isn’t only the miracle we’re waiting for, but the mercy we’re already living in.

✨ Let’s reflect together:

What is a “small” miracle God has done for you lately, one you now realize wasn’t small at all?

If you’re comfortable, share it in the comments.

Why Do Women Pretend to Be “Okay” When We’re Not? ✨
Let’s talk honestly.

Many women have learned how to say “I’m fine” even when we’re exhausted, overwhelmed, or emotionally stretched thin. Not because we’re dishonest—but because pretending has felt safer than telling the truth.

Some of us learned early that being strong meant being quiet.
Some learned that vulnerability made others uncomfortable.
Some learned that expressing emotions was seen as complaining instead of communicating.

Over time, pretending becomes a habit. A shield. A way to keep moving even when something inside us needs attention.

But here’s the deeper, spiritual question beneath it all:

What does it cost us—emotionally, mentally, even spiritually—when we keep showing up as “okay” instead of authentic?

Many women sense that there has to be a healthier way to live—one rooted in honesty, self-awareness, and inner peace. A way that doesn’t require performing strength, but allows room for truth, rest, and healing.

💬 Let’s open the conversation, sisters:
Why do you think women feel pressure to pretend they’re okay?
And what has helped you learn to be more honest—with yourself or others?

This is a judgment-free space. Let’s share wisdom. 🌿

✨ When God Is Quiet but Still at Work ✨

There are seasons when God feels silent.
You pray. You wait. You trust—yet nothing seems to move.

But silence does not mean absence.

The faithful, all-knowing God who orders our steps often works quietly—strengthening us, preparing us, and aligning things we cannot yet see.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Here’s the truth to hold onto today:
God’s quiet does not cancel His care.

💬 Let’s talk, sisters:
Have you ever walked through a season where God felt quiet—but later realized He was working all along?
