Welcome to the Jamaica Paraplegic Foundation (JAMPAR), a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering persons living with disabilities. Founded in 2021, aim is to alleviate the condition of all persons

with disabilities by providing the means for them to become useful and independent members of society. Despite facing additional challenges, including blindness in one eye and schizophrenia, Mr. Pellington remains committed to helping others. Our Mission:

1. Empower persons living with disabilities to experience more fulfilling lives.
2. Provide health, economic, social, and emotional development programs.
3. Offer emergency relief and support in housing, food, medical care, education, agriculture, outreach, and micro-enterprise. Our Vision:

To liaison with individuals and agencies locally and internationally, accepting gifts to further our mission. Our Projects:
1. Annual Christmas Treat and Essential Packages Distribution Assistance Project.
2. Annual Easter (Bun and Cheese) and Essential Package Distribution Assistance Project.
3. Annual Back to School Treat and Essential Package Distribution Fair. FAQs
Q: What is JAMPAR's goal? A: To help 205,000 persons with disabilities in the next 6 years. Q: How do you decide who gets help? A: Individuals must register with us, providing proof of disability. Q: How can I help? A: Donate, spread the word, host a fundraiser, or sponsor our projects. Q: What percentage of persons with disabilities need help? A: Estimated 65% (around 285,000) in Jamaica live below the poverty line. Q: How do I become a member? A: Fill out our membership form and submit it with a request. Q: What types of programs do you offer? A: Health, economic, social, emotional development, emergency relief, and more.

We would like to extend our congratulations to Mrs. Gloria Evadne Goffe-Smallwood's, specifically her recognition as an Order of Distinction recipient for her service in disability advocacy.

National Honours and Awards Recipients

On October 20, 2025, Jamaica we celebrate our National Heroes Day, recognizing outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the country's development and growth. Among the recipients is Mrs. Gloria Evadne Goffe-Smallwood, who I don't see but were conferred with the Order of Distinction (Officer Class) for her dedication and contribution to the disabled community.

We are currently developing a comprehensive guidebook titled "Accessible Jamaica: A Guide for Persons with Disabilities." This guide aims to provide essential information and resources for persons with disabilities, promoting equal access to tourism, transportation, accommodations, and attractions across the island.

"Today, we mourn the loss of an extraordinary individual, the late Sir Shoucair, whose kindness, compassion, and generosity touched countless lives. As a champion of the vulnerable and a pillar of support for those in need, his legacy will continue to inspire and uplift us.

On behalf of the Jamaica Paraplegic Foundation and the wider community, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. May they find comfort in the memories of his remarkable life and the impact he had on so many.

Sir Shoucair's commitment to philanthropy, particularly through Food For The Poor Jamaica, has left an indelible mark on our society. His selflessness and dedication to improving the lives of others are qualities that we should all strive to emulate.
