The Garfield A. Evering Scholarship Fund supports education and academic achievement by providing financial assistance to a deserving low-income student from Bamboo Primary School who has successfully passed the PEP exam and gained admission to Ferncourt High School. This scholarship is particularly meaningful as Garfield A. Evering was a past student of Ferncourt High School, and the fund aims to honor his legacy by helping another student achieve their educational goals.
Purpose:
1. Providing financial assistance to one low-income student from Bamboo Primary School who has successfully passed the PEP exam and gained admission to Ferncourt High School.
2. Recognizing and rewarding strong academic performance, helping to ensure that a deserving student can pursue their educational goals.
3. Covering the first-year tuition costs at Ferncourt High School for the selected student, thereby alleviating financial burdens and empowering them to focus on their studies.
4. Encouraging academic excellence and supporting the transition from primary to secondary education for a promising student who might otherwise face financial obstacles.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Low-income student from Bamboo Primary and Junior High School.
2. Successful completion of the PEP exam.
3. Acceptance to Ferncourt High School.
4. Demonstrated strong academic achievement.
