Are you an accountant or finance professional looking to give back to your Jersey community? Citizens Advice Jersey is seeking an experienced Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees.
About Us
Every year, we help thousands of Jersey residents navigate challenging situations, from debt and housing issues to employment rights and benefits. Your financial stewardship will directly enable us to continue providing free, confidential, and impartial advice to those who need it most.
The Role
As our Treasurer, you'll provide strategic financial oversight and governance, working alongside fellow trustees to ensure our long-term sustainability. This is a governance role focused on:
Presenting financial reports and insights to the Board (quarterly meetings)
Overseeing budgets, forecasts, and annual accounts
Liaising with our external auditors
Ensuring financial compliance and risk management
Contributing to strategic planning and sustainability
What Makes This Manageable
Day-to-day bookkeeping is handled - our experienced bookkeeper manages all routine transactions
Modern cloud-based accounting system - access financial data anytime
Realistic time commitment - approximately 3-5 hours per month, including quarterly Board meetings
What We're Looking For
Qualified accountant or senior finance professional
Experience in financial management, reporting, and governance
Commitment to our values of independence, integrity, and inclusion
Based in Jersey
