மே 16ஆம் நாள், நியூ ஜெர்சி தமிழ்ச் சங்கத்தின் கோடை விளையாட்டு நாள் மிகச்சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது. கைப்பந்து, ஏறி பந்து போட்டிகளுடன் ஆரவாரத்துடன் துவங்கிய கோடை விழாவினை, மதிப்பிற்குரிய ஹோப்வெல் நகரத் துணை மேயர் - உமா புரந்தரே அவர்கள் வருகை தந்து சிறப்பிக்க, "இருதயத்தை இளமையாக்குவோம்" என்ற தலைப்பில் மருத்துவர். V. சொக்கலிங்கம் அவர்களின் சிறப்புரை செறிவூட்ட, தொடர்ந்து இசை நாற்காலி, ஓட்டப்பந்தயம், நடை பந்தயம், எலுமிச்சை - கரண்டி ஓட்டம் (Lemon - Spoon), குழு உறுப்பினர்களுக்கான அஞ்சல் ஓட்டம், உறியடி, தமிழ் மரபு விளையாட்டுகள் என விளையாட்டுத் திருவிழா நாள் முழுதும் புத்துணர்ச்சியோடு மகிழச்செய்தது.

விளையாடிக் களைத்த போட்டியாளர்கள், பங்கேற்பாளர்கள், தன்னார்வலர்கள், மற்றும் களைத்தோர் பசியாற சுவையான நண்பகல் உணவும் மோரும் வழங்கிய "The Park" உணவகத்திற்கும், அனைவருக்கும் இலவசமாய் "Arun Ice Cream" வழங்கிய "Vijay Batter" நிறுவனத்திற்கும் மனமார்ந்த நன்றியினைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம்.

On May 16, the New Jersey Tamil Sangam’s Summer Sports Day was conducted with great success. The festivities began with much excitement through Volleyball and Throwball matches. The event was honored by the presence of the Honorable Deputy Mayor of Hopewell - Uma Purandare, and enriched by Dr. V. Chockalingam’s special address on the theme “Be Kinetic - Reverse Your Heart Age”
Following this, musical chairs, running races, walking races, the lemon‑and‑spoon race, relay races for committee members, uriyadi, and various traditional Tamil games kept the entire day lively, energetic, and thoroughly enjoyable.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to The players, participants, and volunteers who grew tired after playing as well as "The Park" Restaurant for providing a delicious lunch and buttermilk to refresh all the participants, and to Vijay Batter for generously offering free Arun Ice Cream to everyone.
