The Local is continuously working to improve the work environment and benefits of its members. We must not forget what sacrifices the past members of Local 42 have made for the current and future members of The Local. For the general public, Local 42 works to provide better awareness and education in connection with the area of emergency services, including, but not limited to, encouraging greater public understanding of fire safety and fire fighting, instruct the youth of the community in fire safety and prevention; to sponsor events which encourage involvement in fire prevention; and to make contributions to other charitable organizations for their general purposes.
