A week after David finished his epic ride from the top to the bottom (north to the south😂) of France, he has now returned to Jersey.
We thought this was a good opportunity to reflect on his ride and achievement. Exactly three weeks and over a thousand miles of cycling took David from Gorey to Argeles-sur-Mer on the Mediterranean coast of France.
Over the three weeks he camped in his tent, almost every night, with only three nights spent in hotels due to bad weather and soaking wet kit. Just one puncture, and if you heard his interview with Alison Moss on BBC Jersey, you will remember that he had never dealt with a puncture before, and he met some very famous people on the Canal du Midi.
Just have a look at this map of his route, and you get a sense of what he did. It is such a long way.
