A beautiful encounter between craftsmanship, light, and the unmistakable character of Venice.
At Casa Sanlorenzo, Homo Faber unfolds through two distinct yet deeply connected exhibitions.
Ca’ Riflesso celebrates the extraordinary heritage of Venetian craftsmanship, bringing together works by renowned historic makers such as Fortuny, Bevilacqua, and the master glassmakers of Murano. Venetian echoes can be felt throughout the exhibition: architectural details inspired by the Doge’s Palace appear on textiles, while artworks composed from photographs of the richly decorated floors of Venetian palazzi transform the city’s visual heritage into contemporary works.
On the ground floor, Fiat Lux places light at the centre of the experience, bringing together the work of Luxembourgish craftspeople. Here, light becomes more than illumination — it reveals materials, textures, reflections, and the subtle beauty of objects made by hand.
Together, the exhibitions create a fascinating dialogue between Venetian heritage and contemporary craftsmanship, between the traditions of place and the creativity of today.
And perhaps this is what makes the experience so distinctly Venetian: light, reflected everywhere — in glass, textiles, water, stone, and in the hands of the makers themselves.
