The International Day of Dodgeball celebrates more than sport. It celebrates a global community connected through shared ambitions.

Across every continent, dodgeball continues to bring people together, creating opportunities for participation, building lifelong friendships, and empowering individuals of all ages and abilities. From local community programs to international championships, the sport continues to demonstrate that competition and inclusion can go hand in hand.

As the global community continues to grow, so does its collective impact. Every new player, coach, official, volunteer, and federation helps strengthen a movement built on teamwork, respect, and opportunity. Together, we're creating more places to play, more pathways to compete, and more chances for people to discover everything dodgeball has to offer.

Today, we celebrate the athletes, officials, volunteers, organizers, and supporters who make our sport possible. Thank you for helping dodgeball continue to grow around the world.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the people of Venezuela following the devastating earthquakes that have impacted so many families and communities.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected, especially those who have lost loved ones, been injured, or have been displaced.

🌍🎉 WDBF celebrates the International Day of Play!

This year's theme, "Protect Play, Protect Childhood," is a reminder that play is more than fun, it is a fundamental part of every child's development, wellbeing, learning, and sense of belonging.

At the World Dodgeball Federation, we see the power of play every day. Through movement, teamwork, inclusion, and friendship, dodgeball creates opportunities for children and youth around the world to grow, connect, and thrive.

For the first time in Uganda’s history, ChezaDodge and Dodgeball were officially integrated into the 2026 National Ball Games, bringing together student-athletes from across the country in a groundbreaking celebration of sport, culture, and innovation from April 28 to May 9, 2026.

Over three exciting days, schools discovered and competed in this unique dual-discipline format, showcasing incredible talent, teamwork, and energy on the court.

Moyo Star High School from Northern Uganda emerged as the 2026 ChezaDodge Champions, while St. Andrews SS Rubindi from Western Uganda claimed the Dodgeball Championship title.

The games were hosted in partnership with the Uganda Secondary School Sports Association and Seroma Christian High School, with support from The Cheza Association and the World Dodgeball Federation.

One of the most inspiring highlights of the tournament was the overwhelming participation of girls, who made up nearly 90% of all athletes involved in the games, a powerful statement on the growing role of sport in advancing gender inclusion, leadership, and opportunity for young women in Uganda.

This is more than competition. This is the future of African sport.

Union Hall, part of the larger Union Mall complex, will play host to the 11th World Championships in December.

The venue is situated at the Lat Phrao junction in Bangkok, the center of the northern business district.

Union Mall is served directly by the BTS Skytrain and the MRT subway line, and is less than 3 kms from the Chatuchak Weekend Market, the largest weekend market in the world.

Playing dates are projected to be from the 7th to the 12th, but will depend on total registrations. A range of accommodations will be available, with options being shared with National Federation representatives.

The venue is air conditioned, and portable sport court flooring will be used to accommodate the required number of courts.

If you have recent officiating experience, support from your National Federation, and a passion for fair play, we want to hear from you. Selected officials will receive accommodation, meals, local transportation, accreditation, and official event apparel.

The WDBF is pleased to publish its revised ruleset for the 2026-2028 cycle. The rules were shared with National Federations on April 1, with two Question & Answer sessions taking place on April 28 and 29.

The Technical Committee was divided into two specialist groups - Foam and Cloth. The Committees were overseen by Nicole Williams and Markus Sadler, respectively, with Markus maintaining his role as overall technical lead.

On the occasion of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, the World Dodgeball Federation (WDBF) is proud to support the inspiring work of Peace for Development Refugees Initiative (PDRI) at Kakuma Refugee Camp.

Through our ongoing collaboration with UNHCR as part of the Sport for Refugees initiative, sport continues to demonstrate its unique ability to unite, empower, and uplift communities.

At Kakuma, young people from both refugee and host communities came together through activities including dodgeball and Baseball5—sharing not only games, but moments of connection, learning, and joy.

These moments remind us that sport is more than competition:
It is a bridge between cultures.
It is a platform for inclusion.
It is a pathway to peace.

Together, participants delivered a powerful message:
🕊️ We choose peace over violence.
🕊️ We choose unity over division.
🕊️ We choose sport as a force for good.

The WDBF is honoured to support initiatives like this—where the simple act of play becomes a catalyst for belonging, hope, and human connection.
