DEE - GEAYS DEE-GEAYS: Digital Education Era - Global citizenship Education for Activating Youth online Space

The project’s main objective is to create a fully functional online platform that caters to the need of Non-formal Educators. This platform, along with starting with its own course, Global Citizenship Education with a special focus on Social Emotional Learning, foresees to gather non-formal educational materials from all across the field. The strategic partnership therefore is doing joint-desk res

earch in how to non-formal education, what is GCE-SEL, finding out existing digital NFE methodologies and working with the experts to create a digital platform. This project is financed by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, targeting young people, youth workers, teachers and individuals.

WHAT IS DEE-GEAYS❓

DEE-GEAYS stands for: “Digital Education Era - Global citizenship Education for Activating Youth online Space", a strategic partnership project financed by the ANG (Italian National Agency for Youth) thanks to Erasmus+ programme.

The aim of the project is to digitalize Non-formal Education. 📲

The online space they created will become a major hub for NFE educators to create and run various courses.

Starting with Global Citizenship Education focusing on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)! 🌏

WHAT CAN YOU FIND ON DEE_GEAYS' DIGITAL PlATFORM? 💻

In the digital platform you will find 5 courses, which we call "learning modules." 📝

Each learning module represents a set of Non Formal Education activities proposed for one-day workshops targeted at young people of 16-30 years old on a specific topic within global citizenship education. All together the modules/courses create a cycle, guiding a learner from the basics of what is Global Citizenship Education, exploring Social Emotional Learning for oneself, on both activation and deepening levels and concludes with exploring the importance of global solidarity. 🫂

💻 DEEGEAYS’ DIGITAL PLATFORM IS ON ITS WAY!

🔺As 5th Intellectual Output of the strategic partnership project DEE-GEAYS, we have developed an online digital tool for non-formal learning on the topic of Global Citizenship Education, with a special focus on Socio-Emotional Learning.

🔹We tried to adapt the most valuable non-formal learning exercises developed in previous project’s phases to the online Open Source Learning Platform Moodle. The DEE-GEAYS platform - available at https://deegeays.com - has been developed on both the technical level (by personalizing the graphic structure and activating specific learning tools) and the content level (by integrating the activities and materials of the learning labs in the digital platform).

💡The e-learning digital platform has now been activated for testing and for receiving feedback on how to improve it.

‼️ Anyone, anywhere, can use the DEE-GEAYS platform to better understand what GCE is. You can learn by yourself or you can do it in a group with your youth worker!

🔹 But the platform is not just a platform where you can find our course on global citizenship education with a focus on social-emotional learning. We created a platform that is open, free and at zero cost for youth workers to create and upload their content on other topics.

🔺 After getting the basis on how Moodle works, youth workers can join the DEE-GEAYS platform as a learning provider and digitalize the outcomes of their project creating their own courses, which will be available for learners around the globe on this website.

🧊 Illustrates the visible and invisible aspects in our cultures
👉🏼 In the part above the sea, we find 'surface culture', the easiest to notice.
Below the water level, on the other hand, we find the 'deep culture', formed by all those cultural arrangements and habits that are more difficult to notice at first or are not easily traced at first to the cultural dimension.

Dee-Geays is based on European and intercultural cooperation!

Our international team consists of 7 organizations from 6 different countries in Europe, working together on the same goal: to create online space for non-formal education.

From Italy 🇮🇹 we have our 2 partner organizations Associazione InCo and Associazione InCo, which focuses on promoting and supporting mobility abroad, contacts, exchanges and meetings on an international level.

CODEC , Association for European Cooperation, Development and Communication, promotes European policies and values to improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world and represents Belgium 🇧🇪 in this project.

From Denmark 🇩🇰 , we collaborate with Danish Youth Team, for which the main goal is to involve both youth and students in various international projects to broaden their horizons in knowledge and interpersonal skills.

Marketing Gate from Rep. of North Macedonia 🇲🇰 works for the vision of a world without economic borders, human rights respected and without discrimination.

From Slovakia 🇸🇰 we cooperate with KERIC , whose main mission is to connect the Kysuce region with Europe and the whole world.

And last but not least, we have the organization Fundación Xul from Spain 🇪🇸 , whose main focus is to contribute to the collective and participatory construction of a plural, just and solidary society.
