SIGNIS wishes you a blessed Easter!

Dear friends,

We extend our warmest wishes to each of you for a most holy Triduum.

As we contemplate the mystery of Christ's passion, death, and resurrection, may we draw renewed strength and hope -not only for our work as Catholic communicators, but for our world, which longs so deeply for peace. In a time of conflict and uncertainty across so many nations, the light of Easter reminds us that darkness does not have the final word.

May the joy of the Risen Lord inspire your mission to carry the Good News into every corner of our wounded yet beautiful world-through your voices, your images, and your stories.

We look forward with great anticipation to gathering together in Kigali, Rwanda, for the SIGNIS World Congress -a sign in itself that communion across borders and cultures is not only possible, but essential.

A blessed and peaceful Easter to all!

Guido Convents (1956–2025) was a Belgian film historian and anthropologist devoted to preserving the hidden film traditions for the mainstream. Born in Lummen on May 10, 1956, he died at the Leuven Campus Gasthuisberg on September 10, 2025. Through SIGNIS, he helped build global networks for Catholic and Ecumenical juries in film festivals, advocating for independent, values-driven storytelling—mainly from Africa and the Global South—believing that cinema can foster dialogue, dignity, and hope.

SIGNIS welcomes Pope Leo XIV!

We're thrilled to welcome Chicago-born Pope Leo XIV, elected by the College of Cardinals in Rome. As an American-Peruvian and former prior general of the Order of St. Augustine, he truly represents our global Church!

As Catholic communicators across nearly 100 countries, we support his vision of peace that is unarmed and disarming in our increasingly divided media landscape.
Let's journey together in this new chapter! 🙏
