SIGNIS President Fr. Walter Ihejirika paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Archbishop Michael Crotty, Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria, at the start of his new mission leading the World Catholic Association for Communication.

Fr. Leo Ehiemere, National Director of Communication at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, and Fr. Prof. Andrew Dewan Danjuma, Head of the Department of Mass Communication at Veritas University, Abuja, joined him.

The Nuncio said he is ready to support the mission of SIGNIS. Fr. Walter thanked him for his warm welcome and his blessing.

SIGNIS has elected its new Board of Directors during the General Assembly held at the SIGNIS World Congress 2026 in Kigali, Rwanda.

Fr. Walter Chikwendu Ihejirika (Nigeria) was elected President; Pamela Alemán (Canada) and Dr. Magimai Pragasam (India), Vice-Presidents; Peter Rachada Monthienvichienchai (Thailand) was re-elected Secretary General; and Adriana Răcășan (Romania) was elected Treasurer.

We warmly congratulate the new Board and look forward to its leadership in strengthening SIGNIS as a global network of Catholic communicators committed to promoting a culture of peace through the media.
