Following the first-term exams, students at the Solidarity Teacher Training College (STTC) turned their week’s holiday into an opportunity for personal growth and sharing. 🎨🖌Between self-directed study sessions in the library, creative arts workshops designed to spark the imagination, and tending to a new botanical garden, the campus was filled with energy, talent and a commitment to the community. ✨In the heart of South Sudan, where priests are unable to reach certain areas for months, it is the catechists who keep the flame of faith alive. During a pastoral training session in Old Fangak, Fr Christy John CMF, of the Solidarity pastoral team, was deeply moved by a photograph: James’s bare feet and worn-out sandals. A touching and powerful reflection that challenges us to consider the true meaning of discipleship and the extraordinary strength of a Church that never gives up. 🙏 Read it here:https://solidarityssudan.org/2026/06/08/when-this-picture-spoke-to-me-a-testimony-on-the-heroic-witness-of-catechist-james/

🌍 World Environment Day: in Riimenze, agriculture protects the Earth 🌱To mark , we are celebrating the thriving, 100% organic crops at our Sustainable Agriculture Project in Riimenze (SAP-R)! 🌽🥜
Thanks to teamwork and natural practices (like using animal manure, plant mulching, and early weeding) our community workers protect the plants and boost harvests without any chemical products.🌧️

Farming the land without harming it is our way of protecting our Common Home and ensuring a secure future for South Sudan. 🇸🇸✨

In May 2026, St. Bakhita Primary School in Narus hosted a trauma healing and empowerment workshop for 109 girls, aged between 13 and 17, who had been rescued from early marriage in the Toposa community 🌾🪻
The workshop "My Body, My Story, My Strength" offered these young women a safe space to process their trauma, rediscover their self-worth and learn to manage their emotions through Capacitar mindfulness exercises.

👨‍🏫We are delighted to share a moment from the lesson led by Sister Jacinta Prunty (Holy Faith Sisters) for the second-year class of the Pre-service course at Solidarity Teacher Training College (STTC).

In this video, Sister Jacinta introduces the ‘micro-teaching’ week, a fundamental pillar of the training programme for future teachers in South Sudan. Through this method, the college students have the opportunity to test themselves by simulating short lessons in front of their peers, thereby honing their teaching skills and gaining confidence in classroom management.

Investing in teacher training is key to building a robust education system and providing a future for the whole country. Best of luck to Sister Jacinta and all STTC students!
