Earlier this month, our cadets took to the skies again, this time soaring over the snow-capped Julian Alps, the 16th century Venetian star fort of Palmanova, and an old German airfield from the Second World War. It is a special privilege to see our cadets eagerly put their aviation knowledge into action and push their boundaries… FACTA NON VERBA! 🦅 🏔️ 🏞️

Aviano Cadet Squadron - Civil Air Patrol is excited to announce that we will begin having meetings in Vicenza!

Our squadron will be having an Open House for those who want to learn more at the Scout Hut on Caserma Ederle on Thursday, November 13th, from 1900-2000.

Interest in our program has grown, and we now have sufficient membership in the Vicenza community to offer shadow meetings. If you're looking for a program that builds leadership, discipline, and aviation knowledge, consider Aviano’s Civil Air Patrol cadet squadron!
Open to U.S. dependents ages 12–18 (with the option to remain until age 21), Civil Air Patrol offers:�
✈️ Orientation flights and aerospace education

✈️ Stateside flight training that may count towards a pilot’s license (average of 60,000 annual flight hours for cadets)

✈️ Competitive PPL scholarship program�
📚 An academically accredited STEM curriculum�
🎖️Opportunities for leadership, service, and personal growth�
🌎 Participation in one of the top-performing overseas cadet squadrons

Though not a CAP post, this is an incredible short story of high school students building their own plane and flying it to one of the biggest airshows in the world, through one of the busiest traffic patterns in general aviation! Incredible to see what teens are capable of when they have the right tools!

Summer is the peak flying season for Civil Air Patrol. Our aircrews have already flown nearly 60,000 hours in the first eight months of fiscal 2025, and we'll likely surpass 100,000 hours again this year. This includes cadet orientation flights, our Cadet Wings program, national flight academies, local squadron events, plus our training and mission support of the United States Air Force.
